I appreciate the difference in this offer compared to others for Byfield, however, I believe LA declines this. Byfield as of recently has been so good, that I wouldn’t trade him. If they did, it would probably be for a shut down LHD, but even then, who knows…

LA is building their entire future around Byfield. He's their highest ranked player since Doughty, and probably has the most potential of any drafted by the Kings since him. He's 21 and just broke out.

Agreed. Trading him would be a mistake, and he has been nasty this year. It will be interesting to see how he progresses in the future! Have a great one!

I didn't mean to make it seem so one-sided. Guess I was counting on goalie desperation and Blake making another PLD type decision.

I don't expect it to happen. I'd certainly give up more to get Byfield if he was on the table. He'd fill a big hole we currently have in the forward group.

I'm curious what shutdown LHD in the league you think would be worth trading Byfield for? Unless you consider guys like Sanderson or Power to be "shutdown defensemen", I can't think of a single one.

Anton Silayev! Haha, no I’m just joking.. hard to say, I didn’t have a guy in mind when I did write this up. I was just thinking that is what you guys would want if you were to trade Byfield.

I don’t really consider those two to be shutdown defenders, however, the only one I can think of at the moment is Guhle. Maybe Guhle+ for Byfield? Guhle, 5OA you could do, depending on how highly you value Byfield, Guhle, and the pick. Vlasic+ could be another one, again, depending on how you value them, and how much Chicago wants Vlasic, or Byfield.

There would have to be a lot of + in either of those trades for the Kings to consider it.

Yeah? How many +?

Nah, I’m just screwing with you man! I wasn’t lying about Vlasic, or Guhle though.. it would be a lot, but those are the only two guys that fit the mold that I can think of right now. Definitely would be a lot… anyways, y’all should hang onto Byfield, and further develop him. Have a great one!

Totally not fair for the Kings; change the 2nd and Sissons to Kemell and Wood; Kings probably still say no.
