I know how negative TOR fans can be, honestly the roster is a playoff team even if you just "run it back" - the questions are in net. Woll and Talbot, not inspiring. Gotta come up with a creative way to get better there.

Maybe they have to wait to move Marner at the TDL. If they can't make a trade with the list he gives them at the TDL with them not bring him back he could be traded to a contender with double retention.

Problem is where do you find cap space 46 mil in 4 forwards.
Add in 7.5 in one defenseman. You are at almost 54 mil in 5 players.
The whole rest of the roster is under 2.5 million except 1 player and there is barely any cap space left.

The real issue with this team is the idea it has constantly had that it can pay non franchise players franchise level money. It's been a huge mistake and they haven't learned from it and that it doesn't work if you want to win.
Nylander is a good player, he's not worth 11.5 Marner is a decent player he's not worth 11. Tavares was a solid player but not worth 11 mil.
That's where it ends. 4 guys don't make a hockey team and the rest of the guys there, who don't get paid anything are sitting there wondering why they should really care.
Have and have not team. Maybe not be so greedy, save some for decent teammates and you can win some games. But if all you want is to get paid, this is the team you get.
