IMO, it starts by firing the social media team so people don't have a reason to hate on the Canes so hard anymore. I personally think that the team is likeable, but the Canes owner seems OK with trolls tarnishing the solid reputation that the team on the ice builds. In this series though, the goaltending and special teams didn't get the job done.
The Canes had a good thing with Anderson and Raanta for a few years, but I'd call the goal tending situation right now unstable. Those guys seem to have aged out of their prime. Either let Kochetkov run with it and have Freddie back up, or find someone who can be a more stable 1A with Kochetkov. Freddie looks OK in net, but he's playing behind a defense that should make him look like a world class goalie. With all of that said, I think Orlov had a much more brutal game 6 than Anderson did.
Imma disagree with you on the Orlov game but to each their own. Those first 2 goals Freddie let in were unbelievably bad to me.
Regardless of that, you see these issues that just happen to pop up with the canes. For example: out of nowhere this year the canes power play goes cold. Another year the goaltending gets cold, last year they just can't finish. It's always something.
Is it coaching? Is it management? Is the roster just not going to get it done even if they perform?
Personally as much as Rod is a fan favorite, idk how much longer you can take this. Regular season success, collapse one way or another in the playoffs. The canes play a playoff game all year long, maybe their play style as a whole has to be taken into question.
