Not even close. Winnipeg doesn't want prospects, and the value is far off. Danielson projects to a middle six center and Gibson is a B prospect. Ehlers would immediately become the best winger in Detroit.

Love Ehlers but Detroit isn't mortgaging the hopeful 2C for a rental winger that doesn't get them a championship. Offense wasn't the problem for the Wings, and most of the prospects coming up are going to address that.

Jets don’t want prospects is truth, I’m judging based on scouting reports and Ehlers is better than DeBrincat or Raymond. What do you think Danielson and Gibson project to?

Ehlers vs DeBrincat vs Raymond: 2021 - 2024

3. Raymond

His sophomore season was poor, leaving him 3rd on nearly every stat.

2. DeBrincat

DeBrincat had the best volume stats, around 50 more points than Ehlers in around 60 more games.

He even had the best P%, a .857 compared to Ehlers .815.

Debrincat had the best total point share (PS), which is statheads comprehensive stat, similar to WAR. Take that as you will.

DeBrincat scores more goals total and gets more chances, average around 1.1 xG/60 compared to Ehlers average 1.0 xG/60

1. Ehlers

Ehlers had the best efficiency stats despite having 0 fully healthy seasons. P/60 is 2.96 compared to Cats 2.67. This means if Ehlers played the same minutes as DeBrincat at his scoring rate, His P% would be .949, significantly higher.

Ehlers is way better defensively, even accounting for DeBrincat playing on terrible defensive teams. His on ice Goal% is around 62%, DeBrincats is around 57%. Ehlers has more Total Defensive PS than DeBrincat despite playing 50 less games.

PS/game: 0.93 : 0.84 Ehlers

PS/60: 0.262 : 0.336 Ehlers

Every Efficiency stat vastly favours Nik Ehlers. I can elaborate further if necessary.

Even when Isolating this season, even though Raymond had the best totals, Ehlers had far better efficiency stats.

The Jets coaching staff has cost Ehlers potentially around 10 million dollars on his next contract due to their piss poor utilization of him, I hope they right that wrong next season.

Raymond is 6 years younger and has already blown by Ehlers’ career highs lmao.

Ehlers scores more efficiently, is better defensively and drives his line. Also I broke this down, Raymond simply is not better yet.

He consistently plays less minutes than Raymond, Had worse linemates most of the season, played all 87 games with a neck injury; yet he still is only 10 points behind Raymond and puts up vastly superior defensive stats. Last time he was fully healthy he was a ppg player.

You mind giving me reasons why Raymond is better?

“Played with worse linemates”. LOL. Buddy, Raymond’s best hockey came when Larkin was injured. Try again.

Read the rest of the message, also, he still played most of his time with Larkin. Ehlers spent half his season with Namestnikov.

You still haven’t given me any reasons why Raymond is better that I haven’t broken down. Try again.

Which part. The part where you claimed "Last time he was fully healthy he was a PPG player" even though that was three years ago?!

Damn you're right. We really want a broken down bum over Raymond. tears of joy

Yeah, didn't really expect a rational argument from a guy who literally has "Ehlers" in his name, but you at least don't have to lie, bud. wink

46 points in 47 games in 2020-2021.

I remember that year Taro Hirose was nearly PPG with 8 points in 10 games. Probably better than Raymond, honestly.

Yeah he seems to get injured a lot, since that's apparently the last time he was healthy.

He does. It’s the main reason people think players like Raymond or DeBrincat are on his level. Tbf Chicago DeBrincat was a beast.

Guessing the main reason is because Raymond literally blew out his career highs as a 21/22 year old.

But keep going about how Ehlers is better, HighlightrEhlers.

There’s one reason. That happened because Ehlers plays 2 less minutes every game, not much PP time.

Any more?

Raymond had a better season, but he hasn’t become a better player yet. If he’s ppg next season and Ehlers isn’t then he is.

I know Jets fans are surprisingly biased on this site but good lord is this one of the worst takes I've seen.
