    Hawks would probably be willing to take Ceci but they aren't paying anything for him.

    It’s a 5th round pick for a guy that can still play NHL minutes when Chicago needs stop gap guys between now and their young players coming up. A 5th round pick has a very little shot of making the NHL and even smaller chance of being an impact player…. Jesus you’re nitpicking a lot.

    There's plenty of stopgap guys out there that Chicago can nab and not give up anything other than money for.

    Why would the Hawks give up anything - even a minor asset - for a stop gap 3rd pair D man? Just as easy to sign a UFA to fill those 15 minutes a night for one season.

    They basically are giving up nothing - a 5th round pick likely isn’t going to turn into a NHL player.

    The only way I see the Hawks paying for Ceci is if they completely strike out on UFAs.
