I know Pagnotta released a tweet about Nashville and Marner but it’s kinda overblown.

I know some people that work for the Leafs and as far as talks got it was Nashville calling at the deadline saying “hey if you guys are interested in moving Marner, give us a call”. Wasn’t anything more than that. & Toronto doesn’t have much interest in Saros from what I’ve heard. Treliving likes big goalies, Saros ain’t that and he had a pretty significant drop off this season. I don’t think the fits there as much as everyone’s making it seem

Hopefully, NSH's days of giving big contracts to #2 centers, then wishing on a star that they'll somehow become a #1 guy are finally over.

I like don't think the trade package with Toronto is bad. I would like to have a good goalie. I know Toronto is looking for a goalie, but I don't understand why Nashville willing to lose Saros. Was there a report that he was unwilling to resign? I know Askarov looks great, but I wouldn't hang the team on him before he has any real time at the NHL level.

I dunno if it's about them wanting to move Saros, per se, but this offseason is just about the last opportunity they will get to realize the value he has, and while Askarov is not a guaranteed success product, as a prospect he's better than any skater Preds has to offer to the table, which makes moving Saros at least something to consider for the Preds.

I don't really think inking Saros long-term is a bad move by NSH by any means, but trading him is a risk that could open them opportunities they won't be able to get without doing so.
