Necas for 2C

Created by: YeahIDunno
Team: 2024-25 Carolina Hurricanes
Initial Creation Date: May 20, 2024
Published: May 20, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Boring, but use Necas to fill the 2C hole.
EDIT: oops, thought ROR was RH
.

Smith, Comtois, Lemieux are all 1 year placeholders as they take a small step back while the kids get time in Chicago.

Swap Freddie for Stolarz and let Kotchetkov be the #1.

It's my ACGM, so I say they figure out how to bribe SKA and get Nikishin out.

Carolina isn’t going beyond 5 x 5 with Pesce. O’Reilly isn’t really what the Canes need. Maybe if Staal retired lol.

I could see the Canes offering a little more to Pesce after seeing Burns in the playoffs. Need some stability on the right-hand side.

As for ROR. I also somehow forgot he was left-handed.

Pesce doesn’t bring enough offense to be worth above 5. Really disappointing contract year for him might just keep his number down enough to stay in Carolina.

If Carolina isn’t on Ryan Hartman’s NTC, that should be their target as RH 2C.

I just don't see Hartman getting traded less than a year after signing an extension. I sense an Orlov-style overpay-for-short-term for Lindholm incoming.

Hartman has a NMC this season, thought the extension started last year

What NSH needs most is to add a top six center - not trade away their only one.

Carolina adds significantly in order to pry ROR out of Nashville. NOT because he is worth more but because he is Nashville’s only top 6C and they don't want to tank. So they'll need to motivation and means to then go seek out a replacement.

Even when he retires, he has had a glorious run on his career journey.
