I can assure you that the last thing the Canucks do is trade Garland to Edmonton RETAINED for a bag of pucks.

You need to drop cap badly just to sign your players. Garland at 5 is Way overpaid. Kulak is however a solid dman who does better in the playoffs. Thought van could use a player or two like that. Retention would be through a 3rd party.

Garland at 5 is not overpaid, and definitely won’t be trading to a division rival. Great series and I’ll give Edmonton’s stars credit, but Vancouver lost the series more than Edmonton won it, and yes their defense was questionable but Connor Garland was the third best player on the team.

I can see where you are coming from but disagree based on the small amount I saw him. Stat wise he is a .5 point a game player at 12 and a bit 5v5 minutes a game. Solid for sure but at 5 I would expect more toi and better finishing. Your right too it was a great series and I wish the nucks better luck vs others in the future. To me there is one reason the series was close and he plays net for the oilers. I am not saying there should have been a sweep but your 3rd string played great for a 3rd stringer and the oils starter played like **** for a starter.

Terrible trade for vancouver. By taking kulak and retaining they are essentially paying kulak more than they'd pay Garland and now have to replace garland

SJ has no need for more young RWs and, even if they were open to adding another one, EDM shouldn't be paying Bourgault for Kostin after the season he just had. No world in which I imagine VAN sends Garland to the team that just beat them. Their cap situation is tight but not so tight as to abandon half of the best 3rd line duo they've had in ages. It's quite easy to make a complete roster work with what they've got.
