CAR and PHI laugh and decline. Skinner isn’t going to SJS.

Skinner trade is exactly the type of deal sharks should be interested in! His cap hit is a perfect placeholder to save cap for Smith and Celebrini next contracts. Adds some skill to the sharks and returns some assets.

Sharks interested Skinner is not. He will not waive to go to San Jose. Only way Sabres get out of his contract is to waive him

Maybe Skinner says no, maybe he doesn’t but hypothetically if he said yes this is the type of deal the sharks should be interested in.

Agreed. I love this for San Jose, but Skinner won't waive to go to another team unlikely to make the playoffs for a while

1- Necas costs more

2- Sabres analytics dept nixes a trade for Laughton as his numbers have had significant drops

3- Skinner isn’t going anywhere. Sabres don’t wanna move him, & definitely don’t wanna pay all that it would cost to get a team to take that contract. Plus, Skinner wants to stay close to family/home- this is well known. So unless you’re somehow talking the Leafs into taking him, he isn’t gonna waive.

Maybe- MAYBE- the Sabres buy him out after next season if things don’t go well w him & Lindy Ruff
But a buyout is unlikely to happen now bc financially it makes a lot more sense to do it next offseason

Skinner isn’t waiving to go anywhere, except maybe Toronto
It’s well known he wants to stay close to home/family

I could see Skinner being ok going to a no pressure situation in a nice City with good weather.

Yeah I really only see them saving his cap hit if they buy him out but I don't think they ever would. He is more of a locker room presence than most people think and can still be a strong forward for them, just cant do much else around him with that cap hit

He’s literally said he wants to stay close to home/family
So what makes u think he doesn’t anymore?
Especially now that the Sabres are looking like a team that can start winning

And if they were gonna buy him out,
then it makes so much more sense to do it next offseason than it does to do it now

It’s baffling that some Sabres fans on here are trying to ship him out
Has their been some kind of news outta Buffalo that i missed ?
Does he wanna move on?
Do the Sabres wanna move on?
Bc i have t heard anything like that

I love him as the player but his game is slowly declining and some of the fanbase sees a lack of effort out of him these days but like I said, his teammates seem to love him and I think he can still be a goal scorer. He just takes up so much cap space for someone that can be replaced by some of these young guns now

So nothing from the team or Skinner about him moving on then, correct ?

Lindy may have something to do with it.

Do they have any kind of prior relationship?
Usually a new coach doesn’t come in & just boot random players off the team

I suppose it’s possible though
But even still, that would mean Skinner waiving or the Sabres buying him out now (when it’s smarter to do so next offseason)

So I’m still gonna say it’s unlikely
