Oh god... the flood of Acgm's created by which this news will spawn will be crazy.

Marner for Sauros isn't happening.

McDonagh did recently graduate from Wisconsin (14 years after leaving). So, props to him.

Nashville doesn't get a lot when you just look at the player involved. HOWEVER, they get a LOT of cap space, which they can weaponize this summer.

Additionally, Tampa already didn't have a lot of cap space and taking on an older, overpaid player when they are clearly no longer in their Stanley Cup window.

In a vacuum, this is a fair trade. However, taking into account cap space et al, then Nashville easily wins.

Either someone is LTIR, Stamkos is gone or taking a huge discount. Good for Nashville to get value out of this, plus a ton of cap space.

Marner to Nashville. 😋

Yea a reporter brought up Marner to Trotz after the trade, and needless to say he seemed a bit flustered lol. It's happening.

Savard wasn't a bad move this and Jeannot are his only real head scraper trades. Miller was a good trade Rutta for Koekkoek was a good trade the ones you said were good I agree. Paul was a good trade he's batting about .800 I'll take that.

I see Tampa is in the "Bring the band back together" part of their window. Odd move for a cap smart team to take on a 35 year old at nearly 7 million dollars

(1) Is McDonagh that good still?
(2) Is Tampa hurting on D that badly?

Yea this one is just confusing to me. Tampa seems like the last team in the NHL that can take on a soon-to-be 35 year old at $6+ AAV...

1. Yes, still clocks in more than 20 minutes a night, he's a great leader, and while the stats might not show it, he is still an amazing player. Blocks shots, makes smart defensive moves, not much of an offensive contributer anymore(still gets 25-30 pts though) and gives 100%.
2. Their D kinda sucks until this addition. Gives them back the top 4 you can win a cup with. Perbix and Raddysh aint cutting it.

That's nice to hear he stuck with it. All the more reason to like a player like him.
Only makes me sadder that he's gone frown

Not logging onto armchair til the draft. Leafs stans going to be brutal here. I liked it better when they disappeared after the game 7 loss.

Jeannot and Sheary have to be out the door this summer.

Stamkos is probably gone too unless he's taking a major pay cut. That's the only way this makes sense unless Cirelli is out the door.
Cap to production isn't the greatest on him and I think if there is 1 guy to be moved out it's him.

That doesn't move enough cap space tho.

I seriously wonder about Cirelli. He's good but that contract is pretty pricey, his production isn't 2C level, and he is the only guy making serious $ on TBL and has no protections (NMC/NTC).

Did Tampa really just Pawn McDonagh?

"Hey Nashville, I have this very nice defenseman. I just have no where to store it. How about you pay his salary for 2 years and when I get him back i'll give you a 2nd rounder and change?'

I'm thinking about all those Bolts fans telling me their team didn't need any LHD depth.

Welp. hindsight 20/20 they need all the defense depth they can get.

This trade is gonna push Sergy to the right side more often.
Hedman Sergy
Mac Cernak
Lilliberg Raddysh

Handedness and strict pairings arent as important as people think they are.
