Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
KK: Hasn't done well since signing his current contract. With him being young and moving to a young team, he can find his grove again with a better playing opportunity. Can also open up cap space for Carolina to get the right handed 2C they want. Worst comes to worst, the cap space is there to buy him out.

Andersen: Kochetkov has taken the right steps to be given the opportunity as the full-time starter. Andersen struggled when it mattered most with the Canes and with his reasonable contact, he can be traded. He will most definitely help Edmonton.

Necas: Pinto for Necas in my opinion is a good fit for both teams. Added the 3rd round pick to sweeten the deal for Ottawa in case (most likely) they don't want to part ways with Pinto. However, Necas wants to play center in the NHL and this gives him a chance as a top 6 center. Pinto becomes Carolina's 2C and takes a reasonable but fair bridge deal which will set him up for the future in the NHL after his minor hiccup this year with his suspension.

Guentzel: Hoping he takes a friendlier deal than what he can get on the open market. He likes Carolina and the group that is there, plus enjoys playing with Aho. Maybe it'll help keep him in Carolina.

Jarvis: Give Jarvis the 8x8 and lock him up. Will be a fair contract for both team and the player. Just keep both parties happy.

Duclair: Had a good contract year especially for a guy playing on multiple teams. I think a 3x4.5 gives Duclair some stability, but also a fair price for a player who has been on a good number of teams.

Chatfield: One of the most underrated solid Dmen in the NHL. He plays a simple game with minor mistakes. He's been a guy who's always been around league minimum for contracts so give him 3x1.75 to let him continue to grow. Maybe a potential Brett Pesce type of player.

Martinook: Deserves much more for what he brings to this team. Leader both on and off the ice and a great person for the community. Brind'Amour talks about the culture of a family in Raleigh and Martinook is that culture to a T. Team friendly deal which still gives Martinook a raise.

Drury: Has improved tremendously in the last two seasons, however struggled in his offensive game. Drury himself said that's his main focus for next season. Give him a 3x1.5 so he can prove his offensive game in the NHL can improve. If it does, pay him what he deserves in the later years.

FUS: FUS almost played himself onto the Canes this past season during Training Camp. Put him on a line with Staal so he can learn how to play in the Dzone in the NHL and get him comfortable. Rookie deal helps with the salary cap.

Nikishin: 2x950k is the deal he would get based on the reserve list. Who knows if he's coming over this year or the following. Either way, Waddell is signing him this summer. If he comes this upcoming season, he will be a force. If he doesn't come this season either sign a veteran around league minimum or use Ty Smith or Dylan Coghlan.

Morrow: Got a 1 game taste of the NHL before the playoffs. Canes were happy with his first game. With the number of defensemen as UFA's for the Canes this summer, this is almost inevitable.

Necas has been deployed at center most of this season....

and I’d rather Pinto there for the Sens 🤷‍♀️

No, he wasn't. Freddie had a few softies, but Rod was the reason for the loss. Poor deployment, poor roster management, poor special teams. All coaching issues. Freddie had a 1.9 GSAx this postseason, he was good. That's why I hate people trying to blame him.

KK isn't a dump

Soooo.. in the series against NYR he was -0.09 GSAx….. NYI didn’t belong in playoffs so I wouldn’t put much weight into his stats in that series. Again, his save% was .899 again NYI which is really bad. As I was saying earlier, he was the main reason for the round 2 loss. I will however agree with you about Rod, he’s awesome but time for a change(either with his system and style or the coaches themselves)

In pintos short season he took 3x the faceoffs as Necas. Win % is way above Necas. It seems like Necas was deployed to play C up and down the ice but a different player took most of the draws. Pinto was 4th in draws on OTT with 1/2 season and Necas was like 8th on CAR. All this obviously points to Pinto >>> Necas but I haven’t watched either close enough to say who is better when it comes to skill, etc. just some stats for ya

interesting! I wasn’t particularly familiar with Necas’ deployment, I really think of him pretty purely as a centre. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that Necas is the more purely skilled and dynamic one, but Pinto has a steadier two-way foundation

So he allowed a tenth of a goal more than expected... that means it wasn't him. The defense had problems, special teams didn't do anything. Freddie was NOT the reason for the loss, and you just proved that. He wasn't spectacular, but he wasn't why the Canes were 3-0 down in the series

I’m not saying he’s a bad G in case you think I am. I’m saying him not being clutch/not over performing against a bad 5v5 team is the reason. Like Rod, he’s good but not the right piece at this point is what I’m suggesting
