Wondering if this kind of weird trade could actually happen, mainly wondering since there's a good chance both teams aren't able to sign their respected players. Maybe there's picks involved or not, don't really know if there should be n this case

I think Vancouver would rather just keep Lindholm at that price, I think you are looking at anything about 56mil for him to leave Vancouver

Aren't they running him on the third line tho? I watched the lines most of the year and didn't see him in the top 6 much if i'm not mistaken

Plus they have a few guys to sign including Hronek

Yes and no, it was more so about match ups, he spent alot of time with Pettersson as well. Just for the playoffs more so they had him on a different line as they liked running a 3 headed monster down the middle, even while split from Pettersson they ran the lindholm "3rd" line as a 2nd line more so, he also had a lot of powerplay 1 time.

Yeah not sure what that cap for Lindholm will be me personally I think 7m tops anymore let the others sign him. Any rumors on how much Debrusk wants?Debrusk rights for Lindholm makes sense.

On the outside any chance we could also get Geekie from you?

I think at tops it's 7m x 8yrs in Van for lindholm, moving Mikheyev allows you to re-sign Lindholm Joshua and Zadorov quite comfortably while still being able to make upgrades on the team, personally I think DeBrusk is going to be in the 4.5/5mil per year range and at that price point your probably better off looking for a better winger via trade

Debrusk is gonna want and most likely fetch 6mil on the open market imo. I personally would give him 4mil but with term and trade protections, which i bet is what Sweeney offered and Derbrusk didn't like even though he's worth that

I'm estimating that the Bs would overpay a bit for Lindholm

I personally wanna keep Geekie I love him

I agree you can find a better winger, the only idea behind this was if VAN did not want to resign Lindholm and knew the Bs would pursue him, then they could both benefit themselves by getting ahead of the FA game on July 1st

I definitely can understand the idea from the bruins prospective and do think they are very likely candidate to land him if he does hit FA, I just do know that Lindholm is Vancouvers #1 Priority. When it comes to our UFA’s I just think at the end of the day it's going to take something more than 56mil of an asking price for Vancouver to start looking elsewhere

I'm not opposed to trading Lindholm rights but not for debrusks rights. I'd rather get a pick for the rights.

Debrusk isn't really the type of player you need to get in early on IMO.

You think Lindholm is #1 priority? I would think Hronek would be pretty important as he helped Quinn have a Norris season, course they shouldn’t overpay him but he’s an RFA so wouldn’t you want to build off that contract or no?

That’s fair, I just put Debrusk there in case VAN actually wanted him, could be picks too but that would also be if they certainly know they’re not resigning him.

Yea you definitely don’t need to get ahead on Debrusk, just wanted to see thoughts about this particular proposal

Ya absolutely. I definitely appreciate the creativity here and could see debrusk as a potential fit in Van depending on the ask and how other things playout.

I could absolutely see them move Lindholms rights somewhere for a 3rd or 4th round pick though. Severson got a 3rd last year so I think that is likely the asking price for Lindholm.

Hronek is definitely a A priority but isn't a ufa, which what I was more so referring to with Lindholm is of our ufa's Lindholm is the one Vancouver wants done most.

Thanks man, I appreciate the responses here too, cool to hear what you guys think about this idea.

Oh nice reference with Severson getting a 3rd for his rights. I guess something along those lines is what we'd need to give up if we really wanted him.
