i can guarantee you the bruins value geekie more than frost. no chance they would include merkulov on top of it.

love the idea of bringing back nosek.

I wouldn't be so sure. Presser today talked a lot about adding speed, and Geekie is probably the slowest player on the roster. Not to mention Sweeney has traded a guy who just had a good year for somebody with more upside before (Zacha/Haula).

And if Merkulov isn't gonna make the roster this year, at age 24, there's really no point in keeping him

geekie was fantastic for them. his contract is fantastic, and he's an RFA when it's up. all this coming from a presser where a team referenced a need for more speed? cmon.

What is with the Geekie trades lately? He's slow? Did you watch Maroon? lol

Other than that I love the signings other than OEL, we just need forwards imo

Here's where the team (Neely in particular) referenced speed.

And yeah, Geekie had a good year. Does he have another one? He doesn't play all that much defense, and speed (both in terms of skating and decision making) is an obvious issue in his game. There's a real chance he just played the best year of his career. They've got an opportunity to make some improvements this offseason, so they have to at least take the notion of selling high seriously.

As to his contract, Frost is also an RFA coming off his contract and makes almost the exact same cap hit. Money and term are not considerations here.

Yeah hes slow. Maroon being slow doesn't change that. Two players can be slow at once

i'm well aware of the comment bud.

taking that, and transitioning into "TRADE GEEKIE," is about as dumb as it gets. when the bruins needed to win a hockey game to stay alive they moved him as far up the lineup as they could.

Which speaks more for the need to shake up the forward corps than anything. Geekie absolutely should not have been playing the minutes he was on a team that has actual scoring options

He's a perfect third liner for us that can be elevated if we need him up there due to an injury or anything. That's very valuable especially at 2mil and he's an RFA next year.

and trading him would be reactionary stupidity. just so ridiculously dumb to consider it. there's no scenario where you trade morgan geekie and make yourself better.

Man you've gotta log off for your own good. All I wanna do is discuss trade proposals and here's you are in every thread screeching about how everybody is stupid except for you.

if you're just ditching morgan geekie because cam neely wants speed, you are. feel free to use some logic....for your own good or whatever.

If you take everything as personally as you do capfriendly mock trades of third line forwards you're ngmi
