We’ll take Swayman, if you want more.

But I would guess a protected 1st or 2nd+3rd

I think as a team who most reverently finished out of playoffs, trading a 1st may not be something we do until we see how seasons goes. Perhaps if it is a protected 1st similar to how LAK protected their 1st in Gavrikov deal.

Agreed. Unless HuGo think Holtz is some kind of gem - should be Guhle for Mercer.

I’ve written literal dissertations on what I think Ullmark would fetch in a trade. I don’t wish to get into an argument, but I’d be OK upgrading the third round pick to Graeme Clarke. I don’t think any rational devils fans would disagree with that.

There's nothing the devils have that the bruins would need in return, that's the problem with trading swayman. If the right offer was there I wouldn't be opposed to it

I'd be ok with Ullmark getting a pick between 15 and mid to high 30's. If not, just get a middle six winger. If the market REALLY sucks, a middle pairing left shot dman and a third rounder would be alright, since they still should clear some cap, ideally.

Haha, I don't like arguing on here either so you're good.

If I'm DS, I'm trading Ullmark for a late first or early second. Any pick above high 30's I don't think is worth it, I'd rather just see what the market is for middle six wingers to supplement the roster in the short to mid term

Any pick where they can take a fighters chance at a future center is top priority imo

I guess I’ll rewrite my thoughts here.
I question what the market is for Linus Ullmark. I don’t know how many and which teams are gonna be in the market for a very good goalie on an expiring contract. Most of the teams that want Linus Ullmark (EDM, TOR, COL I’ll use as examples) have already traded a lot of their futures away over the course of the previous trade deadlines.

I think the bidding war that is going to ensue for Linus Ullmark will be anticlimactic because those teams do not have much they can offer. Once BOS makes the conclusion they have to move off Linus Ullmark, it becomes a matter of finding the highest willing bidder. I think the willing bidders would have to totally deplete their draft capital (probably unwise for them to do) to make an offer that would blow BOS away. In my view, NJD is the exception to this case having sold off players at the trade deadline. They only have to beat the next closest bidder.

If Swayman, it would be Mercer likely. Or #10 pick.

Montreal dman all worth their weight in gold.

You’d think with so many elite dman they wouldn’t be 31st in the league in terms of playing defense

Swayman for mercer is not good for boston, but if they see someone they like at #10 I wouldn't be opposed. Swaymans an asset you only risk for a legit center, which can sometimes be found early/mid first round but it's definitely a gamble

You would think if he is so bad then devils fans would stop trying to acquire him. Unless your saying devils fans are morons?

How hard is it for you to understand the habs arent giving one of the youngest 20+min a night defenders in the nhl for a guy your team doesnt want

Just a couple hours ago a Montreal fan posted, “the case for trading Guhle”

Meanwhile, Devils fans got 1000 ridiculous Josh Anderson trades, 500 looney Mike Matheson trades, and about 200 for Holtz. So if we send one Guhle trade, pipe down.

Hutson, Xhekaj, Harris, and Matheson are all elite sure things worth the moon. But also Guhle is untouchable and can't be replaced.

I don’t know how they would turn #10 into a top-6 center. Maybe there is a deal out there, but I don’t know what it would be. Mercer would be closest thing we have got (he is more like Swiss Army knife, can fit into any role…but not a stereotypical 1C).

So you didnt read the thread where pretty much every other habs fan said a variation of No or stop being a idiot.

And even the parameters of the trade were more than what you are offering. Nobody is giving up premium you dman for holtz lol

Kent Hughes got massive offers for _____ and turned them down.

(Anderson, Xhekaj, Martheson, Allen, Reinbacher…)

Someone should make an ACGM of all the trades he has said he turned down

Still way more realistic than holtz for guhle. Holtz wouldnt even be a 1st rounder in a redraft at this point
