Demers has a NTC. Besides, I think he'd rather be paired with Yandle back in Florida instead of with Greene.

Really, how can you say that? If the offer is too high to match, of course he walks. I'm astounded by all this chest thumping, "I'm not going to let my play erwalk".
It is a foolish offer Draisait though. If anything, wouldn't the Devils be better to wait one year, overpay Tavares and keep the four draft picks . Either way 11m and four picks can be spent wiser than on Draisaitl.
