Going rate for a guy like Ehlers is a roster player and a mid round pick (see Toffoli for Sherangovic and a 3rd last offseason). A top prospect (granted, in a terrible Bruins system) and a 1st is more than enough.

I would love to trade for Ehlers if the price is right, and that means not moving a 1st round pick, even if we do recoup one via trade elsewhere. We probably get outbid for that reason.

You're forgetting that the Jets have no reason to trade him now, that he is under contract for a full year still, they'll trade him to a team where he wants to extend and that they're looking for a hockey trade not a downgrade at wing to get a mid to late first 2 drafts from now.

Work a deal around Carlo.

Now if I've learned anything today, it's that suggesting trading Carlo for a forward will get you egged by people here. Nah, hockey trades don't pop up as often as people would like. I admit WPG probably wants to be blown out of the water with an offer, but I think a trade will yield less than people think.

Carlo for Ehlers straight up would be the only trade that makes sense if that's what you want.

I could see a three team deal working out with Ottawa where WPG gets Chychrun+1st BOS gets Ehlers and OTT gets Ullmark

In all likelihood Ehlers ends up extending and all this will be for naught. I think if it was a hockey trade that makes sense and fills a hole, the Jets look at it, but we all know how rare those are.

Hopefully Chevy wouldn't look at that deal. One year of a poor man's version of Morrissey to play behind Morrissey when they have Samberg and Heinola there already does nothing for Winnipeg when they desperately need RHD.

Could see this type of offseason coming to fruition

Lindholm seems inevitable, Dillon for 3rd pairing toughness, and keeping Maroon for cheap as a 13th forward

I think the Ullmark and Ehlers deals are pretty accurate too, although Ehlers would have to extend for that price

Not personally a huge fan of signing Lindholm until hes 36 (hes not a 1C), or Maroon (he provides little to no value in game)

but this is certainly a realistic route
