I doubt the Flames going to trade Pelletier. Especially for a clear downgrade.

Neuchev is 3 years younger and is putting up just as good numbers as Pelletier, who is also 5'9 and couldnt stick with a mediocre CGY forward group. Neuchev has 3 years pro experience already, Pelletier was still in juniors at his age. Just because you dont know him doesnt mean hes bad.

Not sure how Drury is worth so much more than Jokiharju, Jokiharju is coming off a great season, hes also only 8 months older but has 3x the nhl experience already

Pelletier struggled to get back up to pace after his shoulder injury in pre-season. I believe he was out close to half a year.

In comparison Pelts was over a PPG in the AHL(not junior) a year ago, and close to a PPG(62P in 66GP in his first season in the AHL.

Neuchev is playing at a 0.5PPG pace in his first season in the AHL. He's younger, sure, but Pelletier is only 23, and a former 1st round pick that didn't look out of place in the NHL. The only reason he was sent down was to get him more playing time, after the shoulder injury.

Its Neuchev's first year in the A and he's 20 playing on the 3rd line of course he wasnt going to be a point per game player out of the gate. His game is at that point though. But the claim was also that he is a clear downgrade, which is not close to true

Okay what does Neuchev bring aside from a decent shot, he mostly uses off the rush? Is he even a top 10 prospect for Buffalo?

He's at least 2 years away from the NHL, and likely he never makes it for more than a cup of coffee.

Buffalo has a plethora of prospects though, they have the deepest pool in the league. And those lists usually have Benson, Levi, R. Johnson still on them who are NHLers. His draft status is also political more than an indictment of his skill.

“His on-the-puck competitiveness has just grown immensely this year,” Seth Appert said. “(He’s) energetic, a little emotional. (He’s a) young kid, but most of the emotion’s good. … Sometimes it can slip to being a little much.

Appert said the 5-foot-11, 171-pound Neuchev is “very creative” and possesses “elite” lateral agility.

“(His) north-south skating’s getting better, needs to keep getting better,” he said. “… He’s got a really good shot for a smaller guy and he can make tons of plays in small areas.”

Appert developed Peterka this way

I doubt Drury is the center to get moved. Can play up in a pinch, solid bottom 6 C and will be the cheapest of the centers we have which might be important depending on who they extend. Will likely look to dump a more expensive center but doubt you guys would be interested.

Locking him and Levi up cheap long term would be the best
