I like the UFA signings, but hate the trades.

Cernak and Cirelli both get too much money and term for their roles.

Necas is a nice 2nd line winger hitting his prime, but he's not the piece I'd be targeting if I was trading Saros. I know CAR fans expect the world for his rights, but NSH doesn't have to be the team to give that to them.

I'd prefer to hold onto Glass for now, if that's all he's worth in trade. Without some of these other cap-eating moves, NSH could do that.

Hawks decline. They're all set in their bottom 6.

Yea I’m trying to figure out what we can do for our 2nd line center. The trade isn’t ideal but it’s an option. I think cirelli is over paid but Im trying to come up with options for our number 2. I don’t wanna see sissons there this coming up year and Novak isn’t a good center

What about Zegras?

If you make one of the 2nds a 1st, Carolina might do this. Saros had a really down year, and Freddie was a regular season world destroyer, not exactly sure that's a major upgrade, especially considering both are up after this year. Tomasino and 2 2nds doesn't get Necas

He'd cost a fortune, and ANA isn't under any pressure to trade him. They aren't in a cap crunch, and no one expects them to compete anytime soon - with or without him. Despite his talent, I could see Zegras frustrating Brunette too, like so many other young Preds (ie. Tomasino). If NSH trades a haul for Zegras, then he winds up in the press box more often than not, it'd be a disaster.

I haven't paid attention to what VGK has planned for next season, but they'll be up against the cap again. I wonder if someone like Karlsson could be a cap casualty there.

On one hand, it looks like Glass has plateaued as a bottom 6 center. On the other, he JUST turned 25 and could still be more than what he currently is. Either way, I doubt CHI is willing to pay a 5th for him, but acquiring him by some means is an interesting proposal.

I agree at 25 I think it is becoming apparent that Glass is exactly that. No point in crowding the lineup with more bottom six caliber players.

I'd be good with Zegras as an option. Another thought would be taking a chance on Norris. Given his injury history and his cap hit the price likely isn't too high and he has the skill set for it. Playing in the west where it is less physical could also help.

Canes accept. Saros is absolutely an upgrade. Shesterkin had a "down year", but he has the ability to elevate his game in the playoffs.

Anderson can't elevate....Saros can. This is exactly what has killed the Canes in the playoffs, lack of confidence in the net. Needs fixed
