Unrealistic and For Fun

Description
Overall I can see some trades needing a couple picks to balance them out.

Montreal: Forward to D-man swap, both hold relatively similar value. Overall works as I am moving Broberg in another trade.

Carolina: Don't think Kuz holds much value, you got him half retained for a 3rd (3.8M for 2 years) so 5th for 1.95M 1 year seemed fair.
Maybe it takes a 4th or a 3rd pick swap.

Seattle: Depth Dman for cheap, given our situation I assume we wont get any more for Ceci than a later pick.

San Jose: Cap dump, maybe you try him for a year and see if he regains form (ended the season well in the AHL).

Washington: 3 younger pieces for a 4c and another top-6 on a decent deal, little bit of a reconnection with McD too.

Habs tell you to add. Xavier had 20 points in the AHL this year, don't even think he becomes much of a NHLer if one at all

Have seen Habs fans post Lavoie with a pick for Barron, assumed XB was a step in the right direction.
I would swap that out for Lavoie and something.

    Gonna go through each trade

    1. Barron Trade
Don't mind the idea If we are moving Broberg but Just Bourgault isn't gonna get it done, probably will have to add a late pick on top of that

    2. Kuznetsov trade
I love this trade, I was really hoping Kenny would pick him up at the TDL he shows up when it matters in the Plofs, It won't take alot to get him (3rd or 4th) but I would prefer if he was retained down to 50%
either by a 3rd team or the Canes

    3. Ceci trade
IMO a Ceci trade is going to happen its just when is it going to happen, he isn't going to be dumped with picks as he still has value but all we will probably get is a pick for him (Don't think Seattle will want him as well)

    4. Campbell trade
not a shot at you but how many times do we need to beat the drum of spending assets to dump Campbell, we can and 75% chance we will be buying him out in the Offseason, overall not a fan of this one

    5. Strome/Dowd trade
I really like what we are getting in this trade, But........ we will need to add a little more to it as Washington values Dowd at a late 1st, and going to assume they Value Strome at around the area of a 1st and a roster player or prospect so unlikely that they move on from them. like the idea but in practice it is very unlikely

Considering Lavoie pass waivers this past year I would say he has even less value then Xavier. Habs fans from Quebec have overly optimistic opinions of Francophones, I wouldn't read to much into their opinions on players from the Q

Unless you got a top 6 center to hand out, Strome isn't moving.

Find another team for retention if you want Kuzy. Or take him as is.

    1. Going mostly off other ACGM's I've seen, could toss in a later pick but value-wise I see this as close already.

    2. Agreed, plus I think CAR needs cap room at this point. Maybe a 3 way trade where EDM provides the pick for 3rd party retention.

    3. Yea I know he'll have a home but dont know where, I said Seattle since Schultz is leaving and Dunn has taken the PP1 QB position so they may be needing a 3rd line guy who has more "stay-at-home" tendencies.

    4. TBH only reason I did this was to make cap work this season and the hypothetical next season, I think we just buy him out as well.

    5. Dowd at this point isn't worth a 1st, maybe a 2nd but even that is iffy. The 1st thing was largely just on this site cause he is considered the "best 4th liner in the NHL", but for 1 season he isn't returning a 1st. Strome on the other hand I had some issue valuing, defs a 1st + roster player. I saw Mcleod plus Broberg as a good base and Cop included as caps fans seem to like him on this site but this one I assume will need more.

Fair enough, other prospects would also be available but the Quebec link obvs always comes out in these ACGM's so I included XB.
I think Barron is a good add and tbh MTL has so many d-prospects I image they'd want to move him for some forwards.

Would you give him up for future considerations, EDM can pay a 3rd party for the retention.

Tried to look at it as a move for Washington to re-tool while getting younger, Mcleod shows a lot of promise and with some PP time and development could be a top 6.

This one was also the trade I was primarily referencing in my header, I know picks from EDM need to be involved to make the value work out.

McLeod is only 1.5 years younger than Strome and at 24 almost certainly is what he is, a solid 3rd line complimentary player. Copponi was a seventh round double-overager and a complete nothing. Broberg is ... very much up for debate as a prospect.

The only reason they move Strome -- basically the only forward on the roster who can score and the one player of the last ~3 years to make Ovi have even decent underlying numbers -- is because they're getting back a player that can help them score (and thus compete for a playoff spot and help Ovi break the record) more than Strome can. I don't think Bouchard, McDavid, or Draisaitl are on the table, so I don't think it's happening

Depends on other moves canes make. Need to prioritize other decisions first
