Description
HUGE offseason for Donny Clarke Sweeney and the rest of the B's. I've been saying for a while now that 24/25 will be their year and there is no reason why they shouldn't get close. Donny got to be on the hot seat if we can't make it past the second round again. Guy's been here a decade and has 1 Eastern Conference Finals appearance. Monty needs a set lineup of players that he doesn't need to be switching up every other shift if every other game.

1st Line: I personally believe that Zacha should be a winger on this team. The only time I really feel like Zacha has looked REALLY solid at Center is when he's playing like a guy like DeBrusk or Bertuzzi on the left. If the price is right on DeBrusk then I'd bring him back to run a JD-Pav-Pasta first line but if that's not the case, he's too streaky to be here. You could experiment with other wingers available like Bert, Duclair or even Freddy but I think it would be best to look for a center to play in between the Czech's. Lindholm and Monahan are the big one's this year, very similar in production. Honestly a 50/50 but Monahan will be cheaper for shorter term and I think he'll fit better between Pav and Pasta.

2nd Line: Plain and simple, need to add a big time scorer for Coyle and Marchand. Don't think it'll be worth it to run it back with DeBrusk so you gotta find something new. Would like to see Lysell get some looks but I'm not gonna count on that. If Lysell does get the spot you could always upgrade him at the deadline. I can see them signing Tarasenko, maybe even Arvidsson, but I think Toffoli or Marchessault are the two front runners.

Bottom 6: No reason to sign any bottom six guys, you have enough speed, skill, and grit to compete night in and night out. All are young enough to build around as well. Bring back Maroon for the room and give him games, just don't make him an everyday guy.

D and G: Edmundson or Kulikov for the 3LD and a veteran backup for Sway. I could see Forbs coming back cheap and split time with Wotherspoon.

i can't see sweeny committing that much money to a guy that certainly isn't anywhere close to a 1C to play 1C. I don't see an upgrade.

What would Bcarlo25 do for the 1C position?

Not Sean Monahan, he's got a bad injury history but he's a solid 2C on a good team

I would take a run at Lindholm if the price is reasonable. If that doesn't work, I would take a look at Stephenson if the market doesn't blow up for him. If those guys aren't available, I would stand pat. Getting Poitras back should help, and I think having your four centers be Coyle, Poitras, Geekie, and Beecher (Zacha shifting to the wing), with Zacha and Frederic as the guys to step in for injury is better than either overpaying for a guy, or trying to pick up a winger to play center.

That doesn't work for bruins hockey.

Boqvist deserves to come back for depth. Signing Monahan that much for that long would be a mistake. I’d see if he bites at 2 years for just over half of what you paid him.
