Hawks aren't trading down. If they want defense they'll take Levshunov at 2.

I’m not entirely opposed to the idea of the Hawks moving back but can’t see them doing it to gain players like Harris & Kidney. Think you gotta come harder than that if you want a real shot.

Chicago counters with their '24 1st (#2OA) for Slafkovsky, Xhekaj, Montreal's '24 1st and Winnipeg's '24 1st. My guess is there isn't a deal to be made on either side though.

Gonna cost a hell of a lot more than that.

I don't think a line of Suzuki, Caufield, Necas makes sense.

Necas is all about speed & skill, not using his body to create time and space for his linemates.

Necas would do really well on a line where he can be the highest skill player and someone else is digging the puck out of the corners.

I could be talked into a trade down, but this offer is not even close. Harris is a non starter as LHD is the Hawks deeps prospect position and Kidney will not move the needle enough either. If you just look at the picks with the Sound of Hockey value chart, you are short a late 1st just to get to value of what #2OA is worth (and Harris and Kidney will not get there). In order to trade out of the #2 spot, the Hawks will need to be compelled to do that (which is why rarely do you see NHL trade downs this high in the draft).

Something like the Montreal 1st + Jets 1st + Roy + Barron is what it would take for me to start to seriously listen.

Holy overpay, Slaf himself would be semi close, adding 5th OA, 26th OA, and a defensemen MTL has apparently got a ton of calls on is way to much for any pick that isn't 1st OA.

I agree. My counter was to highlight the value of #2OA specifically to Chicago. If I were Montreal I wouldn't make the trade I proposed. That's why I stated that I believe there isn't a trade scenario both teams would be comfortable pulling the trigger on.

Put the bong down....take out Slaf (who will be top Pwr FWD in the NHL in two years) and Wi-Fi and you have a deal maybe the Habs throw in your choice of Harris, Baron or Struble.

Line 2 with Dach and Newhook fits just nice

This is where reading comprehension is key. This has already been addressed and had you simply scrolled down just a little further you would have seen it.
