Orrrrrrrrr. The ducks just take a top D-man with the 3rd overall pick and keep McTavish

Logan mailloux can be a good second line D-man, and with that CGY choice (Calgary is starting a rebuild), you can draft a new Mason Mctavish, or possibly a better player.

    McTavish is untouchable fella

This is a hideous offer for a 21 year old top 6 center

It will cost a lot more than a 4th to dump Anderson on anyone.

First Dvorak-to-the-Jackets trade I've seen that would be acceptable.

Habs don't need to sell off Dvorak so taking up a retention spot to do it is a horrible idea

That LA trade is brutal for the Habs, Kaliyev doesn't have equal value to Harris let alone adding a 2nd round pick to him

Habs also wouldn't touch Kane, they're trying to get younger so selling off assets for old wingers isn't in the play book right now

Anaheim doesn't touch that deal, I think Verbeek would like Mallioux but until he proves something at the NHL level he doesn't have that value

Not specifically with CBJ (I'm a Sharks fan so I've noticed bad ones coming to the Sharks), but I've seen plenty where people aren't retaining and the Sharks are giving mid round picks as opposed to getting something for taking on the bad contract.

Ducks arent going to go backwards in their rebuild, what kind of logic is that? Mctavish, a key piece of a rebuild, lets trade him for an unproven, middle ceiling D-man at best, even though the ducks have one of the deepest Defense prospect pools AND then draft another mctavish and push back the rebuild by 3 more years? not 1% of this trade idea makes any sense

Who would be your next Mason Mctavish from this draft? Because after Celebrini and Demidov 3rd overall will be a RHD. No McTavish in this draft. And you are thinking the Flames pick will be worth the former 3rd overall centerman, it would have to be the first overall pick to generate any interest there

Edmonton declines. They don't need old, slow defensemen and they don't need another young goalie.

To begin with, remind yourself of the conditions on the Calgary 2025 first.

McTavish is one of our top 2 centermen right now. Trading him now would require replacing him immediately, which is the point that @Logicalicesports was trying to make to you and you didn't understand.

Here's a simple way to grasp how atrocious this idea is: Artyom Levshunov or Anton Silayev (at least one of whom will be available at #3) are far better prospects than Mailloux, which was Logical's first point, and McTavish is worth far, far more than a future first that will be in the second half of the round.

Dvorak is on the last year of his deal. He doesn't have much value but you don't have to pay to get rid of him. Anderson trade is meh. Rest are laughable.

Considering we all know that's going to become the Florida pick, no, no we can't, nice try though.

Come to think of it, maybe San Jose would be interested in Mailloux and the Winnipeg first for #14 overall.

By the way, inasmuch as Kirby Dach should be the third alternative on his line in the faceoff circle and McTavish wins more than 50% of his face-offs, a better lineup would have been Kane - McTavish - Dach.

Yep, pretty much this. Making us pay to take him on rather than paying us to do so.
