That's not going to do it for CAR and they don't really have a big cap problem. They have Defense prospects that need NHL ice time so one of their Dmen will go. Not Necas. Also, no need for Moser and your contracts for just about everyone (except Necas) are too high by a wide margin. I doubt Entwhistle makes the team let alone get's $1.8M. Joey Anderson might make the team, but he'll be near the league minimum.

Also would add that Nazar is not a 4th liner and if that's the only spot for him, he goes to the AHL

Oh yes they do.

Carolina currently has roughly has $27,350,000 remaining in cap space for the upcoming season which seems like a lot until you realize they are sitting with a roster of 16 and have to sign important RFAs; Necas, Jarvis and to a lesser extent Drury and important UFAs; Guentzel, Teravainen, Skjei, Pesce, Chatfield, Martinook and Noesen.

So while they can sacrifice one of their current FA d-men (Pesce?) they will still have a very difficult time making the rest of the pieces fit within the cap which is why I think the Hawks should swoop in and alleviate their problem by signing Teravainen as a FA.

Morrow and Nikishin are both very good defensive prospects on ELCs. They're working on getting Nikishin over to the states this summer vs next. That'll alleviate a lot of their cap problems. He's a 2x KHL Dman of the year. It wouldn't surprise me at all if both Skjei and Pesce were gone...IF Nikishin comes over.

A team that close to the Conference Finals is not going to go into next season losing two of their best d-men. Period. Whether you think Necas goes, or Jarvis, or Skjei and Teravainen, I don't know, but they're not keeping all of those forwards.
