  1. Ullmark, Linus
  2. 2025 6th round pick (BOS)
BOS
  1. Kuznetsov, Evgeny
  2. Suzuki, Ryan [RFA Rights]
  3. 2024 2nd round pick (CAR)
  4. 2024 4th round pick (CAR)
Additional Details:
Per Friedman, CAR and BOS discussed Ullmark at the deadline. I wonder when they circle back this offseason, if Kuzy could be part of the deal? BOS lacks center depth and I feel Kuzy could slot in as a nice 2C and BOS goes after a 1C. They also get picks for this years draft which they need.
2.
CAR
  1. 2024 4th round pick (DAL)
  2. 2025 3rd round pick (DET)

  1. Lauzon, Jérémy
  2. 2025 2nd round pick (TBL)
NSH
  1. Orlov, Dmitry
  2. 2025 4th round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
NSH has the hole for a top four LHD now -- especially two way
5.
CAR
  1. Bernard-Docker, Jacob
  2. Norris, Joshua
  3. 2025 2nd round pick (OTT)
Additional Details:
*the draft picks are conditional: If Norris plays in over 65+ games and records over 40+ points, the draft pick swap does NOT happen, but if he fails, the swap happens.
OTT
  1. Necas, Martin [RFA Rights]
  2. 2025 4th round pick (CAR)
Additional Details:
I really feel Norris could benefit from a change of scenery and would thrive in CAR

Boston fans incoming to say that Kuznetsov does not fit their culture. It happened to caps fans, it’ll happen to canes fans.

Necas is a lot more likely in the Ullmark deal.

That would be a big mistake for CAR.

JBD looks like a odd man out so he can be thrown in and there will definitely need to be some conditions put in the trade

Moving out McDonagh just to replace him with a more expensive vet - and losing Lauzon in the process - is a step backwards for NSH.

Dont think there's anything in that trade that Boston would want for Ullmark

Boston would want Necas, but my guess is they’d have to add Lysell and maybe a 2026 2nd rounder to make it closer in value. Carolina would then trade Andersen

The real question is what drove the discussion with Boston in the first place. Friedman generally is tied in. That said, the package trade could have been anything. My guess is equal salaries would need to come off the books so it wouldn’t be a pick for Ullmark

People keep acting like McDonagh was NSH 2nd pairing LHD when he spent a good chunk of the season as Josi's partner on the first pair or when Fabbro was in would be on the 3rd pair with Schenn and then to limit Fabbro's minutes would then shift to Josi's partner at times. Lauzon Carrier was the 2nd pairing in Nashville. With McDonagh gone, we still have our top 2 LHD intact with Josi and Lauzon.

I think Carolina's original worry was that Andersen had the blood clotting issue and Carolina was not sure when/if he would be back. Now the worry is that Andersen was awful in the playoffs and they need the better goalie.

I think Brunette would deploy Orlov much in the same way he did McDonagh. With Josi - if there's chemistry between the two, and Brunette still doesn't trust Fabbro enough to be in the lineup every night. Then paired up with whoever else in the lineup that needs the most sheltering.

For me personally, I'd take that deal if I was Ottawa. Especially if Necas wants to play center as well.

In this scenario Carolina likely dies of laughter from Ottawa requesting this

Actually, it highlights how badly Ottawa needs someone like Necas.

All things considered ...

Rather just get a RHD to pair with Josi so that he doesn't have to play offhand.
