Have you thought about trading him to the Leafs this year for someone like Nick Robertson? Robertson had a better year

I think they’ll recoup picks or get a prospect for the AHL team. They have Berard/Othmann ready to replace Kakko and bring in another vet like Duchane

I mean he’s a good player lol Lavi isn’t utilizing him

He’s not gonna light it up offensively, but he’s a great defensive forward. Could be a Nichuskin lite

I think the hawks should do this. They have the draft capital to take a risk. He's young enough that he might just need more ice time...AND the Hawks can absolutely give it to him.

Yup, I was looking for teams that maybe have a top 6 and special teams slot open for him. Could be low risk, high reward

Ranger coaches just aren’t utilizing him

Habs have nothing to offer to even get Laffy. And unlike Kakko, Lavi loves/trusts Laffy and plays him a lot

        Keep dreaming

Life will find a way reference to the quoted comment....

Also, Montreal was part of the last 2 offer sheets (from the previous GM).

Yea I know. It’s just funny how people talk about offer sheets like they’re common

The NHL would be hectic if GM did offer sheets left and right

It’s looking like Kakko will looking at his 2nd healthy scratch in two ECFs

It’s also clear this is the 3rd coach the rangers have had who doesn’t trust or utilize Kakko correctly

In the 90s it was more common. The Cap created a stop to most of it though OR it causes more of an attack forcing a bad contract to a team.

I mean I’m not against it. I think if GM’s were smart and saw that a team was tight against the cap needing to re-sign an RFA, it would benefit them

For example, the rangers barely had wiggle room for Laffy and Miller. Any team could of easily put them out of the price range and complicate things

I am sure some teams are going to look at what Shesterkin will sign at in the offseason and may force NYR to early sign both Miller and Laffy. Ido think Rangers need to move Kakko this offseason to make some future signings easier.

I think Kakko is gone, Trouba and goodrow both have to be gone. Then the rest of the roster will be filled out with ELC’s depending on cap space
