Why does Marner waive to Kraken? Why does Kraken give up so much for one year of Marner?
You have to know that SAD will never be an NHLer.

SEA declines. This is far too much to give up for one person, even someone at the quality of Marner. SEA is asked to give up 8OA, a top-pairing defensive RD, and SEA's top scorer for one winger who comes at a higher cap hit than both of those players and SEA would be on the hook for paying his bonus.

For SEA it doesn't matter about value, to give up this much for one player is poor asset management on SEA's end. Not even to mention there is no guarantee that Marner signs in SEA.

Its Toronto fans, its like screaming at a brick wall. They cant wait to get rid of Marner but yet they think he will return more than Mathew Tkachuk...

No thanks. Hawks like the stability and veteran leadership Murphy brings. Don't need to trade him away for your spare parts

Nah. And I'm not trying to be mean here, but I don't think CHI would have interest in any of those pieces, including Robertson. Murphy is an underrated defensive D, a leader, a mentor, and currently is the longest tenured blackhawk. If CHI isn't getting at least a late 1st, they probably just keep him to continue being a mentor and stabilizing force on their backend. Personally, I wouldn't pay a late 2nd for any of those players involved. So, even if all of them were worth a 3rd round pick, that doesn't add up to what it takes for CHI to let go of Murphy. He is just more valuable to the team and the rebuild than any of that provides. BUT!!! CHI brass might feel differently than I do. Maybe they value the youth aspect and still think all three have untapped upside. So, who knows.

yea great point i'm not saying that this is fair value and I did fail to consider his value to Chicago as an organization not just on the ice. you make some good points.
