I get Boqvist has been up and down and injured a lot but trading him solely for UFA rights would be goofy

That’s a lot to give up for the rights for Pesce to tell him to **** off and test the open market, since that contract is a joke.

I see Lindholm on the roster and Voronkov at wing on the fourth line. Whole lotta nope.

    I mean, the obvious is:

    1) too much to give up for Pesce's rights, and he signs for more
    2) PHI probably says no
    3) Where's Jiricek?
    4) Marchenko gets more
    5) Waaaay too much for Bean
    6) Probably too little for Lindholm

But...I don't know that you're that far off? Lines could use some work IMO, but those change anyway. This team probably takes a step and finishes only bottom-12 in the league.

    1. Agreed, I could see maybe one or the other but not both for UFA rights
    2. That trade feels like it would be up to Torts to give it a yay or nay
    3. Hopefully in Cleveland for most of the season. He may be one of the six best dmen in the organization but spending a significant amount of time in Cleveland working on the finer points of defense would go a long ways towards reaching his ceiling
    4. He could probably get more with a longer term but 4 years takes him straight to UFA so I could see his agent saying sign the $4m/4y
    5. Unfortunately that's his QO. I personally have no problem moving on from Bean since it looks like his ceiling is a 4/5 dman, plenty of other kids in the system with that ceiling or higher that only cost about 1/3 of Bean's QO.
    6. Definitely too little, someone will go nuts with a $9m/7y contract

Sillinger is actually the most interesting one to me out of all the RFA guys that need signed this summer. Does he take the guaranteed money with the 6 year but fairly low AAV contract like the OP has or does he bet on himself and take something like a 3 year $2m bridge contract? I would love to see the next GM get him locked up for 6 years at $3m but I think Sillinger bets on himself with a bridge contract. Or says a 6 year contract is going to cost the next GM $5m AAV which would be a real conundrum.

Sillinger is interesting, but I think he's too much of a wildcard to get a long-term deal. Theoretically he looks like he could be a good 2C/great 3C, but if you lock him up for 6 years at $3-4M and his growth stagnates...it looks like a Kotkaniemi deal. I don't think he'll stagnate, but that's the risk. I'd fully expect a 2 year bridge deal, see how he develops, and then sign him to an 8-year deal if he's a core piece of the future when he's 23.
