Carolina easily declines. A 32 year old RD and a Nichushkin that's had issues in back to back years for Necas? No shot

laugh laugh Carolina passes, You can't trade a suspended player, Necas more than likely get more money. And Carolina isn't touching Nichushkin with a 100 foot pole.

Carolina declines, Nichushkin is a toxic asset (his NHL career is done most likely), it will cost you way more than an aging Manson and a 0 piece in Nichushkin.

The way to get rid of him is to buy him out, yes it sucks and you will have a cap penalty, but this is how this game works.

After Val has a banger post season, ending in a 2nd Cup, you'll be singing a different tune. Just like Colt .45 it works every time!

He has been suspended for 6 months without pay... He has been abusing an illicit substance of a lose consistency... He is a BUM.

He was abusing a substance and leading the playoffs in goals. He’s troubled and has an addiction he isn’t a bum.

tbh i think we can just disregard any trades with Val in them if anything is coming the other way. Avs are at max getting a few mid picks for Val unless they're willing to wait it out until the TDL and he's looked good and healthy. In which case, might as well just keep him I guess. Just as risky as a trade

I would say that it is time for the NHL to crack down on substance abuse.

If a player has a problem with drink, it sucks, but at the end of the day it is legal (Player assistance program)
If a player is doing hard substances that are illegal then there is a 1 strike policy (PA program), if caught again they are expelled from the league.

It is high time that the league does something.
