Idk how i feel about bringing Myers back
And i think it’ll be hard to get Kane to sign here

But these are reasonable type moves that we could/should expect

Myers just absolutely feels like someone Adams would want. Tall, physical (I think), can play right side and played under Ruff long ago. After this season I'm this scenario they'd prolly move Samuelsson or Clifton to make space for Johnson

I’d imagine a lot of it would depend on how Ruff felt
It’s been quite a while though, so it’s plausible he doesn’t even have strong feelings one way or the other, let alone want him back in the top4

Idk if Myers has been more physical lately w VAN,
but he wasn’t even remotely physical with the Sabres- nor was he good (at all) defensively, although he has gotten better in that regard w VAN

Still a far cry from the “shut down” type most of us are assuming the Sabres want/need

It’s an interesting idea though
Obviously Ruff would need to give his stamp of approval
And again, who knows how he feels about Myers ?

For what it’s worth, from the CapFriendly scouting report

Veteran 'right shot' defender
2-way 'D' - used ES and PK
Big body - not punishing physically

So even though he’s big,
it still appears he doesn’t use his great size all that much

https://www.capfriendly.com/scouting-reports/players/tyler-myers

Also from the report:
“best suited as a third pairing 'D' at this stage of his career”

So he probably isn’t the right guy to elevate onto our 2nd pair
Maybe if we got rid of Clifton he’d make an ideal 3rd pair guy though
JokiStan liked this.
