1 of the most underated players in the league, W Nylander in the making.

Other than roiling up some Habs fans - what’s the point here? We all know that Marner is not waiving for Les Habitants nor will Leafs trade him in division, never mind to one of our most hated rivals

Toronto can get more for Marner. Those are just bits and pieces.

Some of these Marner deals I’ve seen are just brutal, makes it seem like he’s a 60 point 2nd liner and not one of the best wingers in the league.

I don't think Marner would complain about being in Montreal and I don't think the Leafs would worry about him being in the division as long as the compensation were right. I don't see what's being offered as being close to enough to make it worthwhile for the Leafs.

Montreal is a great hockey city and a premiere franchise - I just don’t think Marner would waive to go there because it’s out biggest rival. It would be a real gut punch to Leaf fans. And I don’t see Leafs trading him - if it even happens - in the Atlantic, no matter the team or the return

I think Marner probably would not sign with Montreal as a UFA, but if the Leafs chose to trade him there, I don't think he'd refuse. Nor would Leafs fans be able to hold it against him.
