Great deal, getting him for three years on a potential bridge contract. I was expecting two years, and for more money.

That's a laughably poor comparison, and untrue to boot. Nick Cousins wouldn't score 30 points on Crosby's line, or anyone else's line, for that matter. You can't knock Sheary (or Guentzel) for being able to keep up with the world's best player, and succeeding while doing so.

Lol Nick cousins scored 16 points playing with Read, PEBs, and VdV the majority of the time and didn't even play a full season. I'd be willing to bet Sheary's salary that cousins would get 30 points playing on Crosby's wing..
