Doubt that Severson waives for WPG, and trying to move him this early in his contract is probably not a good thing for the organization and signing UFAs. He was on pace for a similar total as last year and that might not be enough but it's way too early to try pulling the trigger and moving him. There's really no reason to add Ehlers, especially after adding Marner. Just let the young guys guys battle for that last top 6 spot.

I don't think Toronto is going to take Merzlikins. Replace him with Severson (if you think Pesce is a must-although more than likely you're burying Jiricek). Your proposed trade frees 3M-KJ's contract, which essentially makes this a futures trade for Marner + a cap dump trade.

Yorkton Sask native severson would probably waive for Winnipeg, why assume that the majority wouldn’t, that there is some that would. Hometown being a 5 hr drive and closest nhl rink from home, more than likely puts him in the waive category.

Because part of his decision to move to CLB is because he and his wife thought it would be a good and safe place to start a family. I could be wrong but I suspect that being "close" to his hometown is not going to make him want to live in Winnipeg.

Columbus and Winnipeg would check enough boxes equally. Or your claim is Columbus is safer than Winnipeg

I'm assuming Severson thinks that based on the assumption that he doesn't think Winnipeg is a safe place. He perceived Columbus as a safe place, true or not, when deciding to go there. Even if his perception on Columbus has changed, it doesn't really matter in terms of his willingness to waive for Winnipeg, if he thinks Winnipeg is unsafe.

laugh Ehlers and Marner aren't waiving for a cellar dweller, One of the worst mismanaged teams in the league.
