Get ready for all the Vancouver fans saying overpay and all the Ottawa fans not interested in this type of deal

His NMC doesn’t kick in for another year though doesn’t it? So in the end it’s not really his choice if Ottawa takes an offer from another Canadian team

Yeah it doesnt but id assume he’ll force himself to an American team eventually but maybe Quinn is enough to keep him happy. I still have no interest in Hronek tho lol.

Yeah if we move Brady we will suck longer. So the only pieces of interests are high high picks or pieces aged 18-22

That's way too much for Tkachuk, his career high in points is 84, and goals is 37, he's not worth all that, that's way too much. Hronek and a 2nd.

It won't be worth the cost of acquisition for most, if not all, Canadian teams to get Tkachuk as a 4-year rental.

I think it may be worth it for only Edmonton, assuming Draisaitl doesn't sign an extension this off-season. It will be do or die for them, since McDavid may exit after that as well. If things go south, then they can just trade Tkachuk with 3-years remaining (assuming McDavid doesn't extend). There's an argument there for the Leafs but they don't have too many assets to give up and potentially losing both Matthews and Tkachuk in the same year and being left with an empty futures cupboard will be detrimental. Maybe for Shanahan and Treliving on a personal level as management, they might not be too concerned about 4 years since they may be gone by then. Vancouver, if they extend Boeser, would have their core locked up other than Hughes, there shouldn't be any pressure to rush things, as long as they keep progressing. Seems like an unforced error to give a massive package. If it's Hronek + a bunch of picks with the Canucks keeping their prospects, then maybe it could be worth it, even if they give up multiple firsts.

Too little, the difference between Tkachuk and Hronek's value is much greater than that of a 2nd and Hronek's with his current contract situation. Tkachuk is a unique type of player, but a team would be paying a king's ransom for him for a lot more than his production. If he had half the points he would still be highly sought after and return a significant package. The Tkachuk brothers are highly overrated, but there's no denying the value they could bring to a team or the high-interest executives and coaches would have in having them on their team.
