How many times does the GM need to say they aren't trading Brady before people clue in

Detroit should be changed to an "any team" situation, considering they do not have the roster space, nor the cap to facilitate.

Detroit has zero interest in Torey Krug.

Make it Berggren+Wallinder+Detroit 2024 1st round pick 15OA pick for Pavel Buchnevich at 5 x $7,000,000 and it's a deal.

Brady should be viewed as having more value than Kyrou…probably adding a 1st on top

It will likely take the #16oa to dump Krug. He's that bad and his contract is that much worse.

Why would a GM say "Oh we are trading a super star" he would lose ALL leverage? would he not? Brady is not happy as I am pretty sure that has been reported.

That is pretty tempting.....with that said I still think some team would have interest in Krug .....whether or not he would waive is the question. Detroit is the one team I could see him waiving for though,

Detroit doesn't want small Dmen. Both teams pass on the other two.

If he is open to trading him and just lying about it, then you know he's not taking anything but a massive overpay. Your proposed trade actually has Kyrou valued at more than Tkachuk, since Chychrun alone is worth more than Hofer + a 2nd + a 3rd. Best case scenario, OTT considers Hoffer+ a 2nd + a 3rd = to Chychrun, and it's a 1 for 1.

One year of Chychrun Is more close to Hofer and the 2nd . He was -30 (granted that is not everything of course) but he is injury prone. This was actually I think his 1st season not missing significant time. ANd hes never put up more than 41 points.

No team wants Krug...so the Blues keep him for a year
That Tkachuk is pretty darn fair to me. Kyrou maybe not be as good Brady...but he's a darn good winger. Hofer could the goalie the Sens are looking for. One year of Chychrun. isn't worth much different than the 2nd and 3rd picks.

The way I see it is that Hofer is worth two 2nds at most (I know everyone wants a 1st for their good goalies but that just doesn't happen often) and Chychrun as a rental is worth at least a 1st rounder. If we assume those two 2nds and the 1st are from the same team (or one of the 2nds comes directly after the other in the same draft) the 1st is worth more than the two 2nds in addition to the Leafs 2nd and the Rangers 3rd by a bit. Of course, the active offers that the Blues and Sens get for their respective players would affect the situation, but I think it's safe to say that Hofer + the two picks are more or less equivalent to Chychrun. I think Chychrun at this stage would still get a 1st+B-prospect or a 1st + 2nd/3rd.

Chychrun's health has always been a concern but he kind of proved that he can stay healthy, so it's not going to lower his stock in terms of getting a decent full-year rental return. 41 points is good for a top-4 defenseman.

The only "top 4" Dman rental that I can think of that went for anything like that is Giordano and he was like 37. Not going to get a prime-aged high-end top 4D for a full year for a 2nd+3rd or two 2nds or two 2nds + a 3rd. Going to be a 1st+ for sure.

So now 41 points for a top 4 dman that is only 26 is good? He was also -30! Krug put up 39 points in 5 less games and NOBODY WANTS him? HES garbage. If anything it makes Krug look MORE impressive given that he fact that hes is significantly older.

It would take significant assets to dump Krug to Detroit as we don't have the cap space or roster spot to facilitate a trade for him. He already nixed a trade to Philly. I would assume he only waives for hometown Detroit or Boston. Maybe a top contender like Florida but those teams aren't trading for players like Krug. His contract will make him almost impossible to move, even when it turns to a 15 team no trade list. Better off riding him out, being a mediocre team and build for the future.

Hanifin had 47 this year, 38 last year, and 48 before that. Krug was on pace for 41 this year and last and 55 the one before that. He was "unwanted" prior to this season, so I think teams (or the teams that he wants) not wanting Krug goes beyond his production. Chychrun had 41 points (14 of which are goals) in his first full-year, he's had 41 points in 56 games before too. Many teams wanted him despite his injury history, and that's not going to change just because he had an underwhelming first full-year. No one is seeing Chychrun in the same light as Krug. The fact that he's only 26 as a defender is a plus since there might still be room for growth. ....
