Well, harris would be like our 7th best left shot d, and we don't need his skill set at all, so I'd start by taking him out. And by top 8 protecting your pick, you are basically guaranteeing that it won't, even by accident, be as good of a pick. I would say hard no.

On the Harris point, you have a few expiring contracts on defence. On the pick, the Sabres pick is 11th.

At minimum, 2 rfas on defense. 11oa this year is better than a future 9oa.

So you're proposing adding a depth defenseman at best that would be bottom pairing. And trading a first round pick that at best could be a lateral move a year later. But most likely 2 years away.

Would Montreal take that deal?

Dahlin, power, and Samuelsson are all signed long term. Adams traded mittelstadt for Byram, if Byram is even halfway decent, adams probably at least bridges him. We need defensive defensemen, preferably right shot, definitely defense first, with a strong physical game. The Sabres need harris like a hole in the head. So, again, we don't want or need harris, he adds nothing.

As far as the pick- the Sabres are already picking 11th this year. The only reason, like literally the only one, to make this trade, is if there's a chance that pick NEXT YEAR, could be better. The protection that's added makes it ridiculously bad. Like what if that pick is 25th next year, we've got jordan harris for our troubles? Lol. Hard pass.

And that is the best case scenario. The Sabres get crushed if the canadiens don't finish EXACTLY with the 9th or 10th pick. So what's that? Like a 1 in 16 chance that the Sabres don't get kicked in the teeth? Come on.

You will need to re-sign Bowen Byram at some point. That’s 4 d-man in the 8m range. Harris, is a controllable asset who plays very good hockey for a 3rd pair D. But by all means draft another forward to add to the collection while the rest of the league waits to reap what you sow. All of the these guys are going to go to the market at the same time. Mittlestadt is just the beginning.

The other thing is this isn’t the strongest of drafts so if we’re merely swapping 1sts, it’s still beneficial for Buffalo.

Who said Byram gets 8 mil? Who is the fourth dman? Sabres don't need another lefty. They already have Ryan Johnson to step up if one of the dmen from last season aren't on the team anymore. Your trade makes no sense for buffalo. Delaying the first round pick makes it worse since you have the protection on it. Just because we can trade 11oa doesn't mean we're going to give it away for players we don't need and futures.

No…. You’re right, and EVERYONE ELSE is wrong and being unreasonable, Lololol

Sabres don’t touch that trade with a 10goals pole
It’s horrible for Buffalo & makes no sense

I love the logic. Here's a crappy left shot d, that we don't need, but he'd be super valuable to you, despite the fact that the Sabres already have too many left shot d as it is. And apparently the Sabres need to give the pick away so that adams doesn't draft another undersized forward. There's no other alternatives. Like drafting something that isn't an undersized forward or a smooth skating defenseman. Nobody is buying whatever you are selling.

That's what you're essentially doing with this trade proposal

Sabres don't need a bottom-pairing d-man as they'll have a number of them to choose from internally this season with more moving up the ranks.

Nothing against Harris, but it's not a good fit.

Uh, no, that's pretty much exactly what you're doing. You're offering a piece that nobody wants, and a future first that inherently has less value, plus with the protections you've added, has literally less value. At best, you are asking for an extreme discount. Keep harris, xhekaj might make this a discussion, but nobody needs harris.
