Because Cruses a lot older... And Bert does his job but better...

Bert's a heart and soul player... You saw him all of last year; flopping around to block shots, always first on the puck, battling in front, etc. I would love to pay Bert and Domi's a playmaker, not a goal scorer...

They'll both do fantastic in Berube's system and the Leafs would be fools not to keep either one

Crouse is 27. He's in his prime and he's on a good contract.

And Bert and Domi are nice luxuries to have, but Leafs shouldn't overpay them. They should target big forwards to fill out the top six alongside Matthews, Knies, JT, and Nylander and dedicate the rest of their cap space to the defense.

I'd rather have Bert and Domi at 4.5 and 3 respectively than Crouse

Pick value is there in Hawks trade. If there is someone in late first they want to move up and grab this would be a good deal.

Then 5 and 3.5... I'm good with this too...

Pierre LeBrun's number isn't right, they aren't going to get 6 mill each

That's still too much.

I just don't think this team is better by bringing those guys back. They had long stretches in the season when they disappeared. And, again, Domi scored NINE goals. Robertson barely played and he was on pace for a 20 goal season.

Overpaying a passing and passion merchant isn't the way to go.

It's called adjusting to the system...

It's dumb that you and other Leafs fans complain that the team doesn't care and they don't want it bad enough and yet don't want to pay players whom bring that aspect...

Winning teams reward passion

Bertuzzi at 4.5 is not an overpay, neither is Bert at 5 or Domi at under 3.5

Anything over 3 for Domi is an overpay. Anything over 4 for Bertuzzi is an overpay.

6'4, 215, 3 years younger, 3 20 goals seasons in a row. It's not even close.

Bertuzzi's had 4 20 goal seasons with 1 30 goal season... What are you talking about...

But he will be 1.5-2 million more expensive.

Every dollar counts. Leafs can't waste a penny in the Matthews window. Treliving made a mistake extending Kampf last year and signing Klingberg at 4 million. Giving Bertuzzi 5.5 would be a mistake imo because you can find guys giving similar production at 4-4.5 million.

He won't be costing 6.3 million dollars... He'll be in that Crouse range and is better

Klingberg's off the books and these playoffs proved why you need Kampf as he's fantastic for PK...

Kampf-Dewar

Holmberg-Matthews or Matthews-Knies

Kampf is really good in the playoffs but in the regular season he plays like a league min player. He's a luxury the Leafs can't afford.

So, you're saying the Leafs aren't going to make the playoffs because of David Kampf?

Kampf has 20 points and is the shutdown 4C, that's better than league min

Marner was overpaid five seasons ago by any standard. 2m per year. Point is Marner might be the just be the 9th BEST winger in the league, not entitled to 11m now. Do you really think some team would give up assets just to sign him to 11.6m contract starting in 25/26? Leafs sign UFAs without giving up assets to acquire them, but somehow so many Leaf fans think the Leafs deserve big compensation for Marner

so theres alot of people ****ting on marner. yes he hasnt shown up in the playoffs for the leafs yet but that doesnt mean hes not an elite player in the right situation. the answer is yes there will be a team that will gldly gie up assets to sign marner at 11.6 Marner is a valuable player. He plays in all situations. Pk.PP,even plays defence when theres a jam. Hes a very solid puck carrier into the offensive zone. hes averaged 100 pts in pretty much all but his 1st 2 seasons. and as much as leaf fans want to get on him hes just under a point per game in the playoffs as the salary cap goes up 11.6 wont be as high as it is now and he will be worth 11.6 for sure to the right team toronto just isnt it , to me he needs a lower key team.

I think youre mindset is the exact reason why the leafs continue to keep losing. Always loking for those skill guys who score the most who cares if they dont have any of the other attributes that they need in the playoffs. Domi has upped his game in the playoffs the last few years thats the type of player they need. Montreal showed toronto a few seasons ago its not about how many goals you score when things tighten up and goals are non existent in the playoffs . its being able to grind out those 2-1, 1-0 wins, play the heavy playoff style. a bunch of high skill 20goalscorers on every lineisnt going to help.

I understand what you're saying but Domi isn't that guy. He wants term and a raise after a 9 goal season. No thanks. Leafs should get Joshua and Perron who are better playoff performers. Let Domi and Bertuzzi walk.
