The Caps will never trade Wilson but if they did this trade would be just a swap, not other picks or prospects included.

Marner already is basically makes $11,000,000 He's not taking anything less then the Connor McDavid deal on his next contract.

I like Debrusk as a UFA target, but Montour doesn't fit really. I'd rather a guy like Pesce or Roy or Walker.

More than happy to move on from Kuemper, but the caps will have to retain or pay significant assets to move him at this point. Best case scenario, he has a good season and gets moved next summer or they just hold onto him while he's playing well.

Can't see Minnesota moving Rossi without getting someone back instead of a package of picks. Of course if it was a top 5 pick they'd move him, but I think it would take Miro for Rossi to get moved and I'd rather just hold onto our guy.

Don't hate Marner as a target, depending on cost. Don't really want to move our 2025 1st and there's a zero percent chance they move Wilson right now, for better or worse.

Fire Jensen to the moooooooooooooon.

LA is not paying for Kuemper without retention, and even then it would need to be a lot. Better, younger and cheaper options are available in free agency.

Kuemper is not the right fit for the Kings, they should shop their starter in goal somewhere else and get a younger and cheaper option

Not point wise but impact wise, yes. If Wilson went on the trading block he'd have 31 teams salivating to get their hands on him, the price would go through the roof. He's a unicorn. The fact Marner has only 1 more year on his deal and has been dunked on for his effort and playoff play, I think a straight up swap makes sense. But again, Caps are never trading Wilson.

Marner has an extension in this case

I don’t think teams are lining up for 6.5 million 45 point guys who are getting paid that until they are 37.

Marner also produces more in the playoffs than Wilson.

Yeah Wilson’s style of game is different because he’s a “power forward” but absolutely not even close to 1 for 1. That may actually be the most absurd thing I’ve seen on this site, and I see a lot of stupid trades from my own fan base

Sorry it's just fact. Do I agree that are actually the same? Not at all, but knowing the NHL, Wlison has just as much value as Marner. TOR would make that swap in a second.

I’m really not sure all fan bases would salivate. His contract is pretty bad considering he’s 30 And has a M-NTC FOR 7 years. He barely can stay healthy for 82 games.

If he was 27 maybe 28. Then probably but I think caps are stuck with him for now. Even if he puts in his destination for teams I doubt you’ll get full value for him.
