Yeah that tempting. Losing Cates would suck though. I always had my TK cost for BUF at Savoie/Kulich and 11th. I probably pull the trigger.

Ok. First created team. Tried to be somewhat reasonable. Got 2 bottom 6 centers for d zone starts and help with the pk. Added some much needed grit. Brought in a pair of right shot d. Added a top 6 winger (which I believe is what adams wanted to do), hopefully konecny is a guy that can help the Sabres to not sleepwalk through every second game. Promoted savoie over Rosen, savoie probably needs time in the ahl, but I think he's already better than Rosen. Something about Rosen screams anonymous henchman to me. Ostlund and Wahlberg absolutely need time in the ahl.

Flip Benson and Konecny and it's progress.
Hopefully Cates and TK come with Extensions otherwise you're throwing away quite a bit of asset for rentals.

I think you did good but I would think the Caps pass on this, Dowd's value is around a late 1st rounder. I would think the pick would need to be at least an early third or late second along with the prospect mentioned.

Pretty nice job for a first acgm team! Interesting that each of the 5 players brought in via trade have expiring contracts, and the returns all seem reasonable. Much more well thought out than a lot of stuff on here

34 year old on an expiring contract, on a roster that needs youth, whose never scored 15 goals is worth a late 1st?

He only finished 30th in Selke voting to, so it's not the D that is fully getting him the value.

Yes, losing Cates sucks ***, but return is something Flyers would also like. Good trade which benefits both as long as TK is also signed for reasonable price.

Looking at stats and awarding voting is not going to show you how valuable Dowd is. Selkie voting is basically for top 6 guys that have great defensive numbers. Dowd is a fourth line stud and excels at faceoffs and his own end. He blocks shots and plays with an edge, while still contributing to the offense occasionally.

His value is much higher than many will point to because he is part of the depth that wins championships.

Feels like in the Flyers trade, both sides feel a little bit of pain, which to me indicates that it is a reasonable trade for both sides. Nice work.

I think when he had term at the deadline you could argue he'd get a first (like Dowd plus a third gets a first rounder) but now I wouldn't expect more than a second. The caps likely just hold him regardless, but one year of Dowd for a second round pick is very fair.

Yeah, he's the one guy I thought might be light on.

Sounds like Paul Gaustad.

Okay, so he's deadline bait for the Caps if they're not in the race, rather than getting something now.

This is an A+ team name and reference. The team itself is pretty good too.
