Tavares should waive to play with and mentor Bedard but I don't see it happening.

As long as a 3rd team will eat half of Marner’s salary before an extension, Canes most likely accept.

I doubt CHI would pay a 2nd for Lily.

Counter proposal:

To Toronto: Necas, Canes 2nd and 3rd
To Chicago: Marner, Canes 1st
To Carolina: Marner (50% retained via Chicago), Liljegren

Canes get a W upgrade and a D replacement, Hawks pick up an extra first for 1 year of retention, Leafs downgrade on W, but free up extra cap space that can be used to improve their D.

You can tell he's great by the 25 different mock trades from Leafs fans on here every day where they're trying to unload him.

Don’t see the Leafs having any interest in Necas - whole point of moving Marner (if it even happens, which is extremely unlikely) is to obtain assets and feee up cap space to address D corps. Assigning a big chunk of that cap space to a significantly less talented winger makes zero sense. Leafs also do not retain a single penny, nor do they add anything to help potential 3rd party retain.
