Initial Creation Date: May 29, 2024
Published: May 29, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Necas for futures if the team wants to save money or can’t find a good Hockey trade.

Orlov style overpay on Ghost instead of paying Skjei or another LHD a pointless long term deal with Nikishin coming over soon.

Kotkaniemi to a team interested for cheap, maybe Waddell is interested in him.

There's nowhere for KK to play on the Jackets roster, and we're not going to buy him out for you unless we're getting some massive bribery for the privilege.

Hawks probably decline. That's too rich a price for Necas.

Don’t hate the roster or contracts, but moving Burns is almost impossible. He has a list of 3 teams he can be moved to and I’d imagine he puts the teams with the least amount of cap space. Kuznetsov isn’t going anywhere without half retained and KK isn’t worth a 3rd.

You’re insane lol. A late 1st, early 2nd and a former 3rd??? That’s fair value bud.

Lardis looks like a STEAL as a former 3rd rounder bud. Don't see the Hawks trading him one year after drafting him. Hawks won't be trading any of their highly regarded young prospects to acquire Necas.

Necas is a sure bet and kind of fits your window while your prospects aren't a sure bet... I don't see Carolina doing this trade either

Don Waddell still really likes KK as a player... I wouldn't be shocked to see him on the Jackets

I imagine he also still really likes Sebastian Aho as well, but that doesn't mean that trade is going to happen either.

Tulsky isn't gonna give up Aho... he'd probably give up KK. There's a massive difference between the two players

He just had a great year and it’s a 1 year deal… He’s also a more dynamic power play QB than Burns so I’d take the risk of overpaying for 1 season.

The dude isn’t a good choice. He was porous defensively and didn’t do much offensively either. Giving him a ton of money because a red hot first 2 months of the season is bad business. We have better use of 6.5 mil

A sure bet for what though? The 50 point player he was this season or the 70 point player he was last year? That's a pretty big difference in production for a player whose primary contribution is scoring. I'm not saying the Hawks wouldn't have interest. But if the Canes ask for Necas includes any of the Hawks highly rated prospects (like a Lardis) the Hawks probably walk away from the deal.

I blame Necas discrepancy in production on Rod not being able to just leave the damn lines alone this last year. Your prospects or 1st round picks are probably the only things of interest to the Canes when it comes to Necas. I don't see a scenario in which he goes to Chicago and not one of your like top-5 prospects come back to Raleigh

Saw a deal earlier today that had Necas to Chicago for Murphy (50% retained), Kurashev and a 2nd. That seems like a deal that both teams might consider. But yeah, I get your position too.

Had the extra cap so I overpayed him for 1 year, point is we shouldn’t give term to a LHD but need to find a stopgap between Skjei and Nikishin with some offensive upside. He’d have an increased role and more time to adjust than the last time he was here aswell.

I just do not think the Blackhawks are the ideal trading partner unless Davidson is willing to start forking over part of the high-end of your prospect pipeline... I think a team that's more like Minnesota or Vancouver works better for both sides but it is a great thought experiment

Lol. Yep road that hot streak from Detroit hard when they were shooting well above expected. Absolute ton of 2nd assists too. Doesn’t change the fact that his defense is beyond porous and not worth 6.5 mil.

Flyers decline, C is already our position of weakness and Frost the only somewhat offensive C.

Considering the Jackets have at least 4 better, cheaper center options, pretty much everyone else would be shocked if that went down.

yeah one is good and one is bad. We arent taking the bad one. Waddle trading for his mistakes from Carolina would be a very good way to lose the fanbase early on.
