New HBK

Created by: RobertWest21
Team: 2017-18 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 31, 2017
Published: Jul. 31, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
1) CGY has a plethora of young centers and may as well get something for Backlund who probably won't resign.

2) Maatta has term on a fairly team-friendly deal for a team that is in desperate need of D help and ample offense. Probably looking to move JVR for a while now with the Marleau signing.

3) VGK loves draft picks and Haula is a capable player while Miller provides a right handed-shot D man.

Not getting a 2C for an overpaid 3rd liner, a 4th liner, and a late 2nd.

JVR is a way more valuable than a often hurt 2nd paring dman.

It's not enough for Backlund.

Yeah I fully understand the Backlund trade not having enough to it. Needs to probably be a first to get the ball rolling on that one but seeing that PIT is win-now, who cares about picks. If they cannot reasonable help the team in the next 5 years, doesn't matter anyways. But I do stand with the JVR trade. I don't know if either team would do it but Toronto is in desperate need of a D and they will not be bringing JVR back.
