Boeser

Description
This is a tweak of @canucksdownunder’s trade idea.

Dependent on Boeser’s health…

Personally I would rathe draft Eiserman at 13 than trade for a 27/8 y/o on an expiring contract…even if I am a big Boeser fan.

Better of the 2 seconds but if the Jake Allen condition triggers it becomes a 3rd.

Basically all Gustafsson has to do is be the starter

That’s definitely not getting you Boeser. MIN’s best bet to get him will be through free agency, as the buyouts will be down to about $800k each. They can throw money at him then.

Fair enough. Personally, I hate this type of trade because it forces the Wild to sign a 28 y/o to a 6-8 year deal and these contracts rarely age well. But, this is exactly the kind of trade I expect Bill Guerin to make…because he’s a complete moron!

It should enough for Boeser. I'd compare it to the Debrincat trade, Debrincat was younger, had produced better, was healthier and got 7th overall. This is 6 spots back of that foran older player, who just set a career high with a team that all seemed to set career highs and is a couple years older than Debrincat was at the time of the trade.

I think that's the best comparable

The gap between 7 and 13 is huge and it's also very different in the sense that van is not actively moving Boeser

6 spots of difference is like the 20th overall pick in value difference, I'd say that difference would hold true between the two players. I know Vancouver isn't shopping Boeser but I'd say that 13th overall is pretty close to his actual value, even on a hypothetical site that's just for fun

Chicago was rebuilding though, while the Canucks are contending. They’d need a pretty big overpay to move their best winger

I know it's different situations but this site isn't real life and frankly this time last year Vancouver fans would have been tripping over themselves to say yes to this deal. Times change but I don't see Boesers value at much more then this, hypothetically speaking that is

I agree this is likely around what Boeser’s value would be, my point was that it just doesn’t make sense for the Canucks to move Boeser for fair value right now. But yeah things can change a lot in a year with Boeser being a prime example of that

What are you hoping his next contract comes in at?
