laugh John Gibson already said no to Toronto, And that offer Pat Verbeek would laugh at.

Marner and Tavares decline, And the trades are rather low.

This. Gibby vetos, Ducks have no interest in Lilj, and Minten looks ‘meh’

Why would Gibson want to stay on a team that has no hope while he is still in his prime?

Because no team can have 4 forwards making 11M or more and expect to win!
Unless they are the moron named Shanahan!

Seriously this is just wasting time now, not all other teams have 3- 11m forwards and can NOT afford to add Tavares.
Do you not get the point of why he does NOT work on TML but can on other tams ?
He is still good at face offs, gets at LEAST 65 points a year and you honestly think not one team would want him?
So any team with cap room and need of a center would want Tavares the question is will he waive?

”John Gibson has absolutely no interest in playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs” - quoted from his own agent. You’d have to ask John why. Lots of players choose not to play in lots of cities for a number of reasons

It says it in the clickable article I linked. Less than 2 years ago, at a time when Toronto fans weren’t borderline harassing one of their own to the degree they are Marner now

And in 2 years ANA has dropped further into the toilet and you still think how he felt 2 years ago is how he feels now?
I just find it funny when other people believe they now for sure what players will do !
Their minds change from week to week let alone 2 years ago!
Maybe 2 years ago he felt they were on a upward trend and not going into the basement further!
You can make all the comments you want but none of us now what theses players are thinking right now!
I just try to make trades to teams to fill needs and MIGHT work for both teams.

2 years ago we were at the early stages of a rebuild diving deeper into the toilet. We now finally have a large group of super promising young players to build around. But honestly that’s completely irrelevant.

At no point did I say he’s going to remain a Duck. We said he isn’t waiving for Toronto. And to think a single thing has changed in terms of why he would’ve vetoed Toronto 2 years ago, to why he’d now waive for them is total ignorance. It was widely believed that every Canadian team was on his no trade list prior to that comment in the first place. He’s a quiet dude that isn’t even a media guy by Anaheim’s standards, dude would hate it there.

If you want to make a trade that might work for both teams, I recommend 2 tweaks:
    1. Trade for someone who didn’t make a public statement to the world saying they don’t want to play for TOR while holding a NTC
    2. Offer assets the other team will actually value (0 for 2 on this one)
