Not entirely convinced about this trade. Don't forget that a primary deterrent for teams to trade for Kopitar is his cap hit and especially term. I understand that you need to overpay to acquire a #1C, but I don't think the trade is worthwhile for us with these circumstances.

Remove the 2018 1st round draft pick and I immediately do this deal though.
Replace the 2018 1st round draft pick with a 2nd round pick and I think long and hard about it.
