Buffalo is in a good position for this year to continue the rebuilding process. However, they have a team that is good enough to make a push for a second wild card spot. The Atlantic division is pretty weak, with Tampa and Montreal being the really only gaurentee's for playoffs (Unless Tampa has injury hell again). I feel the two contracts are pretty fair, and I wish they would've been able to sign Lehner to a longer deal. The Gorges trade is necessary, because they need to make room for the younger defenseman to play. In reality, he's worth less than that, but he is worth a lot to the Buffalo PK. And he's a veteran presence on the ice and in the locker room. So it'll take more to get him out. He'll fit well in Carolina because all of their defenseman other then Dalbeck are under 25. He can help the PK and be a minor piece that pushes the Canes into the playoffs. I didn't create any prospects such as Casey Mittelstadt.
