Islanders laugh at this.
Ehlers is just an average middle 6 FWD.

This deal is bad but Jets aren’t going to get that much for Ehlers.

Not a power FWD.
Easy to move.
Doesn't drive the net or drive his own line.
Never scored 30 goals.
Never better than 61 points.
Average middle 6.

LOL
He is one of very few Jets who DOES drive the net and a line, 61 points is not average middle 6 😂 and if you think Ehlers is a third line player you either don't know anything about Ehlers or you don't know hockey. Has game breaking speed and a great shot, "average middle 6" that's every forward on the usalnders not Nik Ehlers

I didnt say anything about the Islanders. I dont care about them at all. That means nothing to me. However, that doesnt change that Ehlers is a 2nd/3rd line FWD more than he is a first line FWD.
Hence, middle 6. And his stats show that to be true. Nobody is looking at him and saying, "thats a guy who is going to drive my first line". Because he isn't a top line player. He is a 2nd line player at best.
Hence, middle 6.

He is way closer to a top line winger than 3rd that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard lol, when kyle connor was injured this year and he played with Scheifele on the 1st line they out produced every single other line in the league, you don't know what you're talking about, sit this one out

Nikolai Ehlers got 61 points when playing an entire season with a neck injury. When he was played on the first line, he was nearly ppg. He is a capable 1st line winger with potential to be a good 1st line winger on a team that doesn’t belittle him. He has elite efficiency metrics, drives play and is an almost automatic zone entry.

You are welcome to do your research or shut up.

As for the trade package, it might buy the Islanders Iafallo or Namestnikov, it is a laughable offer. 2 bad contracts and a mid 1st round pick has never bought a 1st line winger, which is certainly what he will be in NYI.

No. I don't think I will. The numbers show what Im saying to be true pretty clearly lol
As you said, they dont even play him on the first line. And they are hardly a top of the league team so overloaded with talent that they have 1st line drivers playing down their lineup. He is a 2nd line player. On a cup winning team he is closer to 3rd line than first. If that hurts your feelings. Thats OK. Just dont listen.

Except the numbers don't support you're cute theory, look up expected goals per line that played over 60 mins together, I'll say again you don't know what you're talking about lol

Im not speaking on the package right now. Im speaking on Ehlers. With someone else. The research shows he is a 60 pt player. Who doesn't score 30 goals. Thats middle six. Not top 3.
Everything you are saying could be used to describe a hundred players or more in the league.
Again, if that bothers you, fine, don't listen. There are 50 players who scored 60-69 points in the league this year. There are just as many who scored more than that. And almost as many who scored in the 50 point range. Keeping in mind Ehlers BEST season is only 61. His career average is 50.
Anyways. Have a good weekend.

150+ players in the league who scored as many points or more than his career average this season.
90 first line spots in the league.....
Places him 2nd line at best.
Facts matter
Have a good weekend.

Those averages come in injury shortened seasons with coaching sabotage. His 2020-2021 season on the first line, before he was injured, he had 46 points in 47 games. He was around ppg when playing with Scheif this season.

Facts matter, thats why you need to check the full picture.
