San Jose isn’t trading 1st overall for anything

I agree. While the package is nice and could be full of amazing talent for the rebuild… getting the sure thing star player that will be a franchise player for years to come is just a bad move. They will build up enough around him and don’t need to ice 20 1st round ELC players in 2 years

No sure I understand the logic behind trading the 1st overall pick. Celebrini will be a foundational piece for the next 15 years.

Easy decline from the Rangers. They don't need two 4th liners, and if they need to get rid of Goodrow's cap then they can just buy him out. The value here is also way off.

You don’t trade an elite 1C for a Dman whose middle pairing, ever.

You might of you get a chance to draft a top pairing one with the other draft pick you're getting.

Celebrini is as guaranteed as Zeev Buium to be a star. No prospect is a known commodity

Celebrini has been the consensus 1OA all year, buium was maybe mid 1st at best until the end of the year. You don’t trade a 1C for a middle pair LD. Nobody trades the 1st overall pick

Would rather trade up from 14 to grab a Dman than trade down from 1.

Also I still wouldn’t touch Mailloux with a 10 foot pole :/

I get what you're saying that you wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole, but I imagine several GMs are if it gives them a chance of getting better.
