A late 1st certainly isn’t getting Zegras, look at any Montreal AGM the last 6 months

His value is not very high. Injury prone, poor defensively and attitude issues.

I'm personally not very into this deal either, but it will likely happen and it will likely look something like this.

It won't be that cheap or easy to dump Anderson and Gallagher.

1. These are all fair prices, so I don't know why they would say no.
2. 3 lines which are all borderline 1st line level. Pairing strong veteran defencemen with elite defence prospects make this strongest defensive depth in the league.

Value not very high; then why would we trade him?

Injury prone; guy has had two injuries in his career and neither had to do with each other, that isn’t injury prone

Poor defensively; yes he was, but he is improving there and both him coach and GM praised him for how he was doing at the end of the year

Attitude issues; HAHAHAHHAHA laugh laugh laugh laugh bro how

Zegras to Montreal isn’t happening

Trading Gallager at $4M makes him a solid veteran 3rd line presence for any contender. So that is not an issue getting value at all. Also, he is future LTIR candidate so very appealing deal for any good team.

Anderson is still unique combo of size, speed and toughness. Every playoffs is a reminder of why these players are so important. He has not 1st value anymore but he is still a positive asset.

the amount of delusion here. Listen, I'm a zegras hater, but a late first for him? that's bonkers. such a horrible offer. shipping a cap dump to calgary for a first and a second? get real.

Kirby Dach centering a "1st line level," line? Blue line is mediocre. gaoltending is mediocre. forward group is pretty mediocre. this team gets stomped, and your trades are insane.

Not a single team considers any of these trades

The Flames one is especially awful you can't get two high picks for a cap dump and a decent top 6 option

Ok, bro. Hopefully. We will get to spend $5M+ wisely on a better player.

Like I said, I don't want the deal. On included because it will happen.

Maybe you are not following league properly. Zegras has low value. Dvorak is most certainly not a cap dump, he is playing tough minutes on a young rebuilding team. And please look up Kirby Dach's numbers post trade. This team will obviously look less than for some people but all are great young players who will only get better.

Dude, if you dont think dvorak is a cap dump then these trades make sense in how over valued every hab player is by a lot

Ok, what is the offer for Anderson + Matheson. I think Leafs need both types of players.

everything you said here is just incorrect. basically you're going against positions that are near universally accepted.

as for dach, career high of 38 points? ya, good for him. doesn't exactly scream top line center to me.

this team doesn't make playoffs, especially when your best d man is on the third pair.

Nothing, anderson is terrible and has a awful contract and Matheson isnt good enough to make up the difference if they were free.
For matheson straight up without the lead ballast? Not a lot, certainly nothing montreal would want for him

Unfortunately Dach injury has made people forget the talent level. He is a 2nd overall pick talent.
There is no 3rd pair. They are all equally built. One young star potential D with one veteran star D. Which other team has such depth?

Ok, so I see leafs fans are wanting to repeat same mistakes and not value playoff valuable players like Anderson.

this team isn't good.

Attitude issues? I didn’t realize you played for the Anaheim Ducks and have been around Trevor Zegras to know his attitude? Get this crap out of here man you’re making **** so you can devalue a player in a way that benefits your team.

Maybe in Montreal fantasyland those things are true, but in the reality in the NHL they are not.

Gallagher is pretty bad now and still has 3 years on what is, even with retention, an awful contract. He is a definite negative value asset.

Anderson is a unique combo of a player that doesn't use his size and average 4th line play, while be paid as a top six player for another 3 years. He's basically dead negative value cap. Even worse than Gallagher. Anderson's contract is on par with Jack Campbell's. No one is touching it. He is nowhere near even being a zero value asset, so he's a light year or more from being a positive value asset.

Please tell me why a 60 point, bad defensive player who has never played 82 games is worth more than 1st round pick?

San Jose got 2 1st for Hertl. So this is fair as Zegras is less than Hertl.
