ultimately depends on if there's lottery protection on the 2025 pick, I think. either way I don't think it really fits Chicago's timeline. but I also don't think Ottawa finds it worth it to set their rebuild that far back for #2 and then like, a lottery-protected pick that gets deferred to 2026. But if it's #2 and then chance to be top 3 in 2025, that's probably a "gotta just take that leap" situation. but I don't think Chicago does it if the 2025 isn't protected

The 2025 Toronto pick is Top 10 protected.

This version takes it too far. Adding the Toronto '25 1st, the 2nd plus the retention on Hall to get Norris too makes it a "no thanks" for the Hawks. Norris's injury history is a GIGANTIC red flag. Way too risky with the dollars and term left on that deal. If Norris is able to play again, who knows how long he holds up or what kind of player he'll even be.

I’m sure Ottawa would take it or at least consider it very hard but why would CHI do that?

why would OTT consider this crap the only thing of value is CHI 1st and that alone aint enough, the 3 players have no to negative value, the TOR 1st is going to be mid 20s, nothing here helps OTT now, they would not consider this

I think it's a better futures bet to go with the proven elite player in Brady and the cost control of both their contracts. Norris when healthy is a bargin at that price especially as the cap continues to grow.

Sens definitely accept. Hawks don't offer that though.

Sure. But what are we gonna do, juggle a constantly injured Norris just because "he is good when healthy"? That would tie up unusable cap space for a long time, and leave us with a hole in the lineup because we can't use that space when he is hurt in case he comes back, unless he LTIRetires or something. But if he does that, what value is he to CHI?

Exactly. Too many years and too much money for a guy that might be healthy.

I might be in the minority but I would hope Ottawa doesn’t accept this.

Hall is coming off major injury and just started skating again. Raddysh had an abysmal year. Reichel could be nice but is coming into his D+4 year with not much to show for it so far.

So that leaves the picks. Are Demidov/Levshunov, an early second this year plus a late 1st next year worth Brady and Norris.

I would say definitely not. If they were forcing their way out of town 2nd oa might be a good place to start but given Brady’s standing I wouldn’t give this much thought. Especially is Norris sorts the shoulder issues out there’s a good chance it’s a landslide in favor of Chicago.
