Chychrun is worth a lot more than that. Even DeBrincat to Detroit ONLY was worth more than that

I would love to move into 10-13 and snag Eiserman! High risk high reward after you get Parekh, Dickinson, Buium, Silayev etc at #7~

Eiserman would be a good pick, possibly Yakemchuk or Catton if they fall. Getting into that 13 spot is a prime pick this year - someone is going to fall and have a chip on their shoulder.

Not trading that pick for Chychrun, we can have a discussion about Chychrun without it though

I think the discussion starts and ends with that pick - not wasting time thinking Wallstedt, Faber or Eriksson Ek could be involved and there's not much else that would be of interest to the Sens. The 1st next year is too much of an unknown since I see Staios wanting either a proven NHLer or a top 14 1st this year. If Minnesota won't include 13 this year then the Sens will go to one of 10 other teams who would swap NHLers.

You're not getting a top 14 1st for Chychrun, I don't really care what you gave up to get him. He's a one year rental.

You'll get a (late 2024 or conditional 2025) 1st and a prospect with some extras sprinkled in for balance, as is standard for these types of deals. You would have to part with a significant addition to even get a conversation for Faber or Eriksson Ek started.

It’s literally Chych + 25 + 50% retention. it’s not Chych alone. I think Chych is good enough to move up 10-12 spots if im being honest.

It still involves giving away a top 14 pick for a rental. Maybe another team would be interested, but I doubt it.

I'd assume any team that picks him up has the intention to extend him on July 1st. Otherwise then I definitely agree with you.

I think that's why you're more likely to see him traded after July 1, with an extension in place, for a 2025 conditional 1st. Or if a team does trade for him prior to the draft, it'll be a team with a later 1st who has a clearer path to the playoffs and isn't as concerned about his rental status.

They can talk to players before July 1 and have handshake deals done on extensions. The extension just can't be registered prior to July 1. So they can know if Chychrun would be looking to do an extension or not.

Minnesota would be interested in trading for Chychrun, but they're not trading for him without an extension in place, and they're not trading that pick for him.
